Caroline went to Indiana sometime after that and in 1865 they
came to Nebraska to homestead near what is now Blair, Nebraska.
Three sons came with her to Nebraska. They were William
Harrison, John Samuel and Jay David. An older son, Anson Tinsley
Johns was already in Nebraska. Anson Johns was located near
Cumming City, Nebraska and this is where Caroline and boys went
first. John Samuel and Jay David went to school for sometime
there. Wade Morris was serving in the Union Army at the time,
but came later to Nebraska. Caroline Tinsley Johns passed away
in 1886 at Craig, Burt Co., Nebraska at the age of 76 years."

paid.
DEED: December 22, 1829: Anson Tinsley, in debt to Elijah Davies
for $1,098, took out a deed of trust with Maurice H. Garland and
John S. Johns, pledging 158 acres of land on Harris Creek, an
additional 33 and 72 acres elsewhere, his slaves Betsey (30),
Judy (25) and Amey (17), 2 horses, 1 ox card and yoke of steers,
3 cows, 6 sheep, 4 pigs, plantation tools, 4 beds, 1 desk, 1
cupboard, 1 chest of drawers, 1 folding table, 2 square tables,
8 chairs, all his other furniture, his crops of corn and tobacco
and his interest in his wife's father's estate. All parties
signed their names rather than making their marks. Deed Bk T, p
48-49.
POWER OF ATTORNEY; Jan 22, 1844; John S. Johns appointed Wm R.
Tinsley his power of Atty to receive for him $160 from the
estate of his mother, Naomah Garner of Amherst County. Tinsley
was also to demand Johns' share of the estate of David Tinsley.
Johns was then living in Lincoln Co., TN. On 20 March 1844 he
recovered $69.41."
