  1. +Margaret Catherine HUMRICKHOUSE

Notes

Albert Humrickhouse was born May 5, 1787 in Philadelphia PA. He died July 12, 1864, during Jubal Early's invasion of Shepherdstown on his way into Maryland on his way toward Washington. His wife was Elizabeth Weise, born 1793 in Hagerstown, MD, died Feb 18, 1847 in Shepherdstown. They were married March 26, 1811, in Washington Co., MD. Their children were:
John Ferdinand 1812-1814
Albert Post 1814-1834
Maria Christiana Dec 4, 1815-?; married Smith Hunsicker Oct 23 1833, and went with him to Arkansas. He died there. She married W. B. Kerney.
Elizabeth Augusta Sept 1, 1817 - 1901 in Frostburg MD. She married the Rev. Henry Bishop, a Lutheran pastor Dec 15, 1841 (The entire Humrickhouse family were active Lutherans). They had 8 children and lived in OH, PA, MD, and IA during their life times. It is from this line from which I descend.
Margaret Catherine, Aug 30 1818-?
James Jewett, 1822-1824
Amanda Samanna Oct 12, 1824-Jun 7, 1866 in Shepherdstown. Married Grandison Templin Licklider Nov 4, 1847 in Shepherdstown. They had 7 children, the last of whom, born in 1861 is named William Pendleton Licklider, after his uncle, James William, I presume.
Thomas Oscar July 12 1826-July 12, 1826
Henrietta Frances Oct 2 1827-Nov 15, 1827
The Humrick-house family goes back through Albert's father Peter (who had 13 children and lived in Hagerstown) and fought in the Revolutionary War, to Joannes, who was born Germany, and arrived in the U.S. in the mid 1700s. Albert was a prosperous merchant in Shepherdstown. He ran a general store, and owned a coach line that moved people and
goods from the Ohio River to Maryland. His father Peter built coaches in Hagerstown. Albert was also was postmaster, since the mail came in by coach."

Title: Lindsays of the World
Author: Ken Lindsay
Text: Anthony Lindsay Sr., in my opinion, was born 1705 and christened in
Stepney, London, England. It has not been proven; however, many of us believe he was the son of Samuel Lindsay and Elizabeth ______. Nobody seems to know when he died; however, there is reason to believe he may have died in Baltimore Co. MD. If so, he is probably buried in that county. See 1730-1 Maryland Colonial Wills, Prince Georges Co, folio20, page 158. It appears that Francis Tolson paid Anthony's way from England to the Maryland Colony. Anthony married Tolson's stepdaughter, Alice Page, about 1725. She was born about 1700, probably in London,England and was the daughter of ____ Page and Ann Marsh. We do not know when or where she died.
