Notes

My grandfather's family moved from Russell Co., where he was born, to Scott Co., and then finally to Wise Co. This was shortly afer the death of his mother, Louisa. He worked as a coal miner, and later went to work for the County Roads. After moving to Maryland around 1947, he opened a country grocery store. He loved to tell ghost sories to all of us grandkids.
