Randolph, Martha Patsy b. September 27, 1772 d. October 10, 1836
Martha is the oldest child of Thomas & Martha Jefferson, she was born at her father's house Monticello. Martha married Thomas Mann Randolph Jr. on February 23, 1790 at her father's house, Monticello, Thomas is Martha's cousin. Martha was the White House hostess for her father, President Thomas Jefferson. When Martha was not at times able to do her White House duties, her sister Maria was the hostess. After her father's term as President was over she and her family lived with her father at his house, Monticello. After her father died the estate had to be sold, Martha moved and lived for a time with her daughter in Boston. (bio by: T.R. M)
