Thomas Milton Ware. She was the granddaughter of Giles C.
Buffin. I cannot trace his ancestry and wondered if you could
point me in the right direction. I found you name and email on

as a Huguenot, Quaker, English ancestry, and cannot find other
Buffin's other than a Chesley and Thomas in taxlists of York
County (1790) and James City County (1800). Any help would be

She told me Sherman was indeed the son of John H. as listed in
her Bible. She talked about the plantation and said it was
something out of "Gone with the Wind." She said she still has
furniture which was in the plantation home.
From her information, I reached out to the Rocky River NC
Morrison line which Marianne claims John H. is descended. They
strongly refuted Marianne's claim and even told me legal action
had ensued over the dispute. They said no proof exists
whatsoever to support Marianne's claim. "
"I obtained numerous Tax Assessment Records from Guadalupe Co.
and learned the records listed the following: William C.
Morrison, James M. Morrison, Sherman H. Morrison, Wesley H.
Morrison, and John H. Morrison. All the Morrisons listed are
sons of John H. Morrison. They were wealthy too. Hundreds of
acres of land on the Guadalupe River, slaves, carriages, cows,
horses, etc., were shown to have been owned by these Morrisons.
The Morrisons were Plantation Owners."
