"According to Paul M. Gifford Of the U. of Michigan, 1997,
Christiana is the daughter of John the 2nd Lord de Mowbray of
Thirsk.In responding to a query he says "I sent you the
reference in the Close Rolls, if I recall, where she says that
John de Mowbray was her brother. When the only contemporary John
de Mowbray mentioned in the Close Rolls WAS the 3rd Lord, who
else could she be? She certainly had to be of some status and
the Mowbrays had interests in the Newcastle area (the Isle of
Thirsk), where her first husband lived." I am descended from
her and her 2nd husband Sir William de Plumpton,Knt."
