"Edward Turner -- b. 165? (but other source says 1631!, too
early to be son of Arthur above); d. before 7-27-1709; m. (1)
Mary Smith, (2) Elizabeth ==?== (d. before 1688), (3) Mary
Hatch; - Came to Maryland in 1652.
His father entered a hog & cattle mark for him 7-2-1661 in
Charles Co., MD. His will was proved in St. Mary's Co., MD
7-27-1709. It provided that his youngest son, Samuel, would
inherit land called "The Bow", that his oldest son would inherit
their home (described by Augusta True notes as close to home of
other Trinity Parish Turners), that his daughter, Elizabeth,
would inherit her mother's wedding ring, and that his wife,
Mary, would live on their plantation according to an
anti-nuptial contract reserving the estate of her former husband
for her children. Mary later married George Whittier sometime
during 1709-10. Material from Virginia Beemer notes Edward
Turner was listed as a magistarte for St. Mary's Co., MD in
1696.
