"From "The Woodsons and Their Connections" Tucker, born about 1744 in Goochland, located in Albemarle county, married Elizabeth Moore and died in 1779. His will is dated March 16, 1779 and was proved in Albemarle court, May, 1779.

In the early part of the Revolutionary War, Col. Joseph Crockett, while on duty in Albemarle county, protected the property and home of Tucker Woodson (5), which, like isolated country homes, was in constant danger, both from the Inidans and the British. From this circumstance threr resulted a warm attachment between Mr. and Mrs. Woodson and the young officer. Col Crockett, commanding the Illinois or Crockett regiment, was ordered west to aid George Rogers Clark in his warfare with the Indians.

Shortly after this, Tucker Woodson (5) died (in 1779) leaving his widow and two little boys, one of them a mere infant. having performed his military duties, in the west, Col. Crockett returned to Albemarle county, fell in love wiht the handsome young widow and married her in 1783. Taking his wife and her two little boys, they removed to Kentucky in 1784 and settled in Jessamine county, where they spent the remainder of their lives.""

Will dated 22 Mar 1827, probated May 1827. States in will he had a "first" wife and a "last" wife. States he has "six youngest children by last wife" and also "eight youngest children by last wife". Witnesses were H. Arrington, Nancy Arrington & Joel Arrington. States his land adjoins Graves Thurman (left to grandson John, son of Mason Moore). Signs as John his X mark Moore Sen.

His inventory has notes on Tucker Woodson, Charles McCulloh, Duke Robinson, William B. Elgin, Bennet Williams, John Hodges, Smith Bridges, Elisha Bryant, Peter Freeman, Jesse Fuller, and 5 slaves among the other personal items / property. Also says that he has a $2 note on the North Carolina Bank Newborne(?), a $1 on the Nashville Bank, and $1.12 ½ note on the Nashville Bridge Company.
