for my heirs after obtaining the title as above specified my
will is that my executor as soon as practicable shall sell the
said 645 acres of land and apply the proceeds as hereinafter
directed.
First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Candis S. all the
negroes now in my possiession that originally belonged to the
estate of my wifes father namely Sarah, Caroline, Daniel, Hanell
and Abram, also two beds and furniture which beds and furniture
bear the initials of her name.
I also wish my executor to purchase about one hundred and fifty
acres of land a suitable place for my wife which I give to her
during her natural life or until she intermarrys. I also give
her two good horses, two Cows and Calves, six sows and as many
plantation tools and farming utensils as she may need for the
use of the hands that she may have and also one years provision
out of the Crop and stock that may then be on hand and also as
much of the household and kitchen furniture as her situation and
convenience may required during her natural life or until she
intermarrys...when my oldest child shall arrive at the age of
twenty one years then for the whole estate to be equally divided
between my Children or their legal heirs that may then be living
should none of my Children live to be of lawful age then my
estate to be divided equally between my brothers & sisters
should my wife intermarry at that time...to my Children or Child
as the case may be as above directed..
I appoint my brother in law John Glasgow Executor to this my
last Will and testament...
15 Dec 1832...Recorded 14 Feb 1833.
The 640 acres is described and it is stated that this land was
1/3 of the property he owned in Hardemon Co. They divided the
Negroes, the 5 to Candis which were from her father the other 12
to the son of Joseph Taylor, the ONLY heir. Signed by: W. E.

Matthew Rybern - signed by the E. D. Tarver, JP on 15 Dec 1832.
15 Dec 1833...One years provision for the widow of Joseph
Taylor:
2,000 pounds of Pork, 80 barrels of corn, 7 bu of wheat, 150
pounds of sugar, 75 pounds of coffee, for vinegar, pepper and
other contingencies of family expenses, thirteen dollars. Five
stacks of fodder and one stack of oats. Recorded 14 Feb 1833 by
Edmund D. Tarver and J. J. Williams - Commission Jan Term
1833...Acct Sales of property of Joseph Taylor. Items
sold were: hoes, axes, plough, cotton scraper, Sett Waggon,
harrow, Spinning Wheels, Bed and furniture, wafer irons, beds,
steads and furniture, tables, candle stand, trunk, chairs,
irons, writing desk, clock, lots of barrels, shot guns, cart and
two yokes, waggon, grind stone, sorrel horse, black mares, bay
horse, colts, cow and calf, yoke steers, heifers, barrels and
bu. of corn, 54 hoggs, 1,887-1/2 pounds of pork, 8,700 pounds
fodder, 520 pounds stall(?) beef, 18 lbs tallow, 58 lbs green
hide, 33,687 lbs cotton, pots & skillets, ovens, loom,
palere(?),
stack of oats, 21 acres land, 11 acres of land, negroes: Amy
and 3 children hired. Hired out: Joe, Hercules, John & wife,
Iseral, Edmund, old Joe.
