ROBERT KYLE & BETTY ANN CAMPBELL corresponds precisely with my
own. I have it that the dates of ROBERT KYLE are born 1702,
Tyrone County, Ireland; died 1774, Buckingham County, Virginia.
On ca 1728, he married BETTY ANN CAMPBELL (born ca 1704, Tyrone
County, Ireland; died ca 1779, Charlottesville, Virginia).
I have it further that the above ROBERT KYLE was a son of JOHN
WILLIAM KYLE, of Ayreshire, Scotland (known as "John Willam the
Belt")
Of the children of ROBERT KYLE & BETTY ANN CAMPBELL that you
mentioned, my ancestor (Revolutionary War soldier) is WILLIAM
KYLE (1730, Tyrone County, Ireland; died 1821, Botetourt County,
Va), married SARAH ANN STEVENS (born ca 1732, Tyrone County,
Ireland; died 1812, Fincastle, Botetourt County, Va). William
is definitely the Father of my ancestor ROBERT KYLE (1751-1814),
and William even survived Robert by some 7 years.
Also, I have it in my notes that William fought in the
Revolution with his brothers, Joseph, Robert, & David, and that
they were all from Tyrone County, Ireland of Scotch parents. He
also furnished horses for the Revolution and fought with Capt
James Rowland of Botetourt County (bro in law ?)"
