"I am descended from William Bridgers and Elizabeth Bass from Nash Co. NC.
(Their daughter Penelope Bridgers married Richard Drake, son of William Drake and Zilpha Kirby.) William Bridgers was the son of Benjamin Bridgers and Sarah Bryant. Sarah married Benjamin Bridgers as her second husband, having been widowed by John Drake of Bertie Co. I have James Drake (who married Sophia Valentine, then Hartwell Hodges Davis) listed as her son by John Drake. Another researcher on the Bridgers/Bass family of Nash Co. hired
a researcher to confirm this about a year ago, and shared her findings with me."
