"from A History of the Broaddus Family by A Broaddus, 1888 (FHL#0896911 item 4)p. 27-28:"Thomas Broaddus, oldest son of Edward, by his first marriage, like his father, spent his life in agricultural pursuits. He died suddenly at seventy years of age, never having been removed from Caroline county. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary war. He married Ann Redd, by whom he had seven sons, and four daughters. His widow, Ann, was greatly beloved by her acquaintances, and greatly beloved by her relatives, and died at an advanced age of ninety-six years."
