aka: d' Farcy, FOUSHEE, FAUCHE, James, John, Jacques. Jean
Farcy (Ffarci, Forsee) with his wife came over in 1700 with the
Marquis de la Muse on the first of 4 ships I believe it was the
Mary Ann. Jean was naturalaized in 1705. English settlers did
not have to be naturalized but others did. They settled at
Manakintown VA and suffered hardships the first few years. Jean
Farcy was one of the first vestrymen of King William Parrish and
Farcy's are named in the Douglas Register for that Parrish. Jean
and his wife who married Anthony Rapine after Jean died about
1717 had 3 sons and perhaps a daughter named Judith who married
a Bingley. Information on this family appears in Documents on
Huguenot Emmigration to Virginia by R. A. Brock and Turff and
Twig by Priscilla Cabell includes a map showing location of land
Jean Farcy was allotted. My ancestor was Stephen (Ettienne)
Farcy son of Jean and his wife thought to have been Suzanne
Chastaine though I have found no documentation--they were close
to the Chastains and Jean's sons lived with Stephen Chastaine
after their father died. I obtained Stephen's will from the
court clerk of Cumberland County VA. Farcys were quite
prominent in France but I have not been able to connect the ones
in Manakintown with the ones in France. A Jean Farcy was
minister to a church in Mouchamps in the late 1600s.

mentioned.
The 9th August, 1729, was born Isac, son of Antoine Benin and of
Elizabeth, his wife; was baptized by Mr. Taler; had for
godfather, William Landsdon and Estiene Farsi; for godmother,
Marriane Dutoi. The parties have declared that the child was
born the day and year above. - Jean Chastain.
9ber the 25th, 1741, was born Elizabet, daughter of Ethiene
Farci and of Marie Farci, his wife.
