Henry White names son, Jacob, who he gives his "household
furniture I brought up with me from Buckingham to Bedford", a
horse and bridle and saddle. He did not name his sons {except
for Jacob and William} and daughters but leaves the sale of his
land in Buckingham, and from the sale of his personal estate, to
wit: Abraham, Rachel, and Maryan, to be equally divided between
them. His granddaughter, Judith David, shall have equal part
with each of them. If Judith David departs this life before she
becomes of age then her part to be divided amongst the rest of
my children. He appoints sons, Jacob and William, as executors
Will: 13 August 1800, probate, 27 September 1802
In 1787, we find Henry White in Buckingham County. The 1787 list
of land owners of Buckingham County Peter Guerrant Com., Dist.
No. 1 included Henry White (weaver), 260 acres of land. The 1793
list included Henry White, 1 tithe, 1 slave over 16, 1 under 16
and 4 horses. Other Whites mentioned in the above Tax Book:
Henry, Dabney, Hugh and William, 1804-1806. The coat of arms
used by the descendants of Henry White of Buckingham County is
described as " gu (red) a chevron vain, between three lions
rampant-or (gold)" with a crest out of a ducal coronet or
(gold), a dimi eagle, wings expanded sable (black). The motto:
Loyal unto death.

includes a type written bible record, several letters, and
family group sheets on this family. The bible record is from a

this info. There are some points that don't seem to agree but a
lot does. Perhaps further info will clear up these.
The people listed in the file are;

A. Lockett, Jr. attorney, who has bible, and typed copy of White

White, although no proof of this exists. He was in the Orange
County records in 1739 as a tithable, and in Deed Book # 15:
"Henry White, James Madison, George Taylor, and John Carter,
Gent., 37 Lbs- 154 acres, lot no. 9 August 24, 1769."
In 1787, he was in Buckingham County, and bought land. Henry
came to Bedford about 1800, to spend his declining years with
his son Jacob. He had sold his property in Buckingham in
November of 1799, and brought with him the money from the sale
which he noted in his will for his children and granchild, and
household furnature, which he left to Jacob in his will. The
other personal property included 4 negros. Henry died in
September of 1802."
