PREFACE
Some data, legends and the repeated use of certain given names
and the history of the times supports the strong possibility
that Thomas WING/WINGO is the forefather of our WINGO Line. It
is fully realized that this procedure is subject to question,
but any researcher who has worked in the area of the destroyed
records of Virginia is fully aware that full documentary data on
a family of this area is rare. In addition, this is an
exploratory effort to encourage others to join in this effort
and come forth with better data than is presently available.
Generation No. 1
Thomas1 Wing/Wingo, birth and death unknown. He married Ann Doss
Notes
Thomas Wing/Wingo is probably John's father or brother. He
married an Ann Doss.
In Their marriage records, they are listed as Wing or Wingo and
in the Church records when they died, they are listed as the
other name.
Possible child of Thomas Wing/Wingo and Ann Doss is:
+ 2 i. John2 Wingo, born Abt 1685; died Bef June 26, 1755 in
Raleigh Parrish, Amelia Co., VA.

I am one of many Wingos here in Texas. And know that we decend
from Daniel Wingo, who came with his Mother on the good ship
"William and Frances" in 1632.
And three brothers, John, Zachariah, and Abner from Amelia
County, Va. Later in
Spartanburg County, S.C.
