16-20. Will of Martha Brockington of the District and state
aforesaid, widow, being weak in body.
I loan to my son John Brockington during the term of his natural
life the following property, which is to be in no wise liable
to the payment of such debts as he may now owe or which he may
hereafter contract, to wit, a negro woman Nancy and her five
children Jack, Phoebe, Sambo, Jemima, and Ned, together with the
future increase of the females; also my souare dining table,
long poster bedstead, one feather bed … one third part of my
horned cattle and one third part of all land I may die possessed
of excepting the tract on which I live.
Upon the death of my said son John Brockington, all the property
above bequeathed shall be equally divided among such children of
his as may be surviving at the time of his death.
Unto my grandson William Burrows, $20.00 when he attains the age
of 21 years.
Unto my son William S. Brockington and my daughter Mary B.
Pressley, to be divide share and share alike, the following
slaves, viz, (18 named).
Warrant for Appraisement to John Gotea, Alex McCrea and James
Gamble. Sworn before William Hedleston, Esqr, J.P.
Inventory dated 15 Mar. 1825. Total evaluation, $8087.50.

land on which I now live, together with the improvements, also
one third of my proportion of all other lands I may be possessed

live, also one third part of my stock of horned cattle… Unto my
said son William S. Brockington and my said daughter Mary B.
Pressley, all the rest of my Estate. My son William S.
