Notes

maybe kin; Haxtun makes the statement, "The feeling of the authenticity of name connections, which always leads me to search other companies of Pilgrim times for history in this family has been well rewarded. I found in Capt. John Smith's company, Virginia, 1620, a Francis Billington. There can be no chance about this, and he is easily placed as a brother of Pilgrim John Billington's, while the children's names make good claim - John for the father, Francis for the uncle."
