She caused quite a rift in the family when she had a clandestine
alliance with her sister Nada's financee. When Sister Dorothea
found out about this she was appointed to tell Nada. When
confronted Henry didn't know which one he wanted - he and Nada
had been betrothed for a good while and were saving their funds
to get married. Nada told him to buzz off and he married
Daisey. Too bad Daisey didn't give him the same treatment. It
was quite awhile before any of the sisters would associate with
her and the stress continued for the remainder of their lives.
It was a twist of fate that sister Daisey would be the only one
living in Shreveport near Nada towards her end and Daisey's son
would handle the sale of Nada's property and transfer her to a
nursing home. According to the neighbor, Daisey never went to
see about Nada, yet she would see Daisey in the grocery store
out and about.
