"David B is also my children’s GGGGreat Grandfather. The
information that I have is that he was born about 1795 and died
in 1870. He was married to Martha Goins and both are buried in
the family cemetery at the home place on Claunch Loop Road. Davy
was in the 39th U.S. Infantry during the War of 1812. Most of
the information that I have was received from Allen Young whose
mother, Gladys Clounch Young, just died in June of this year.
She would have been 89 years old in October. Gladys was the
sister of Dewey Sylvester Clounch…my sons’ Grandfather.
I have Davy’s parents as William Claunch and Betsy Alvis….and
his Grandparents as Jeremiah Claunch and Jean Unknown.
David B. Clounch and Martha Goins children were – 1. David
Jefferson Clounch, 2. John Clounch, 3. Leff Clounch, 4. Ell
Clounch, 5. L. Clounch (female)."

HI, Margret I am sister to Lawrence Edward Clounch - Our Great
Granddaddy and our Granddaddy's name was spelled with an "O"
(Clounch) At someitme some of Daddys Brothers changed their
Spelling to use the A (Claunch) MY Grandmother told me they had
told her that it sounded more correct to use the A so that is
why some of William Robert Clounch's Boys are spelled - Clounch
and some with Claunch, Mamie Anne Clounch Holden
