I really like your web site. Wish I had more time to spend looking at all the info. Our family tree stops with a Leland Harrison. He may really be a Hale, spelling being several different ways. I can't find anything else or any more information on this.

I was surfing the Net and found you. My ancestors include George Harrison (1762-1834). Cannot find his point of entry into the United States. He came to Alabama in 1818 with his 4 sons (Jonathan, Levi, King, George) and 2 daughters (Kitty and Scena). Jonathan is my GG Grandfather. He was married to Barbary Wallace and they had 17 children. One of which was my G Grandfather, John. John married Elizabeth Tillery and they had 10 children. Of this Union Thomas Jefferson Harrison who is my Grandfather.

What a wonderful site. There have been rumors in my wife's family that they were related to Presidents Harrisons but no one took them seriously. Well, after some digging, I've discovered that in fact my wife's great grandmother's maiden name was Harrison, her father Ezekiel Harrison of the Rockingham VA Harrisons and well the rest is history! Clearly third cousin 5 generations removed to Abraham Lincoln. And perhaps a link to the Benjamin Harrison Line. What a hoot!

I'm researching my "Snoddy" family and I think that the "Sloan's" you have in your family are related to Elizabeth Sloan (b:ca 1725) that my ancestor (Samuel Snoddy 1727-1794) married. Do you have any further information on the Sloan's while they were in Lancaster Co, PA? Samuel and Elizabeth were in Rowan Co, NC in 1759, and I feel that they came south from PA., but can't prove it. I'm hoping you have information that will help me. Thank you. Carol

Wow! Just discovered you. My father(Benjamin Harrison Lilly)'s great, great grandfather was William Harrison. According to death record of Ellen Jane Woodward(d 24 Nov 1910, age 98), she was born in Baltimore to William Harrison (born Elkridge, MD) and Ellen Haggidon (born London). Family rumor says we are related to President Harrison, but we haven't found any connection yet.

Descendent of John & Eleanor (Todd) Harrison who came to US (Michigan) in 1835 (Ship Wolga)from Hull,England. Family traced back to William (ca1730 - ?) - lived in Burstwich England. Other families referenced directly in Harrison line include Wright, Jones, Barnard, Cross, Tietsort, Graham, Lewis. I published a book in 1989 (The Ancestry of Nathan Lewis Harrison). The book goes backwards from my son (Nathan). 170 surnames are identified. It is has errors and is now probably out of date. When I have time I look to update and correct it.

I have just created a digital (.GED) form of our family tree that I first created in High School. I am interested in extending the family tree by importing other .GED files created by relatives of the Ruffin (usually referenced to Edmund Ruffin), Bingham (usually referenced to Hiram Bingham), McCarthy, Branham, Nisbet or any others that can be found on our web site.

Great work. I've already extended my line 5 more generations with your info. I'm a direct descendant of Andrew Harrison and Elizabeth Battaile. Each following generation named their first son Benjamin or Batteal (apparently from Battaile). Settled in Madison County, Ohio via Virginia Military Land Grant. Would be interested in hearing from any relatives.

My grandmother, Margaret King Harrison, has a large volume of ancestral information which I will see if I can get my hands on to send you, next time I visit her in Virginia. It is my understanding this ancestry connects to the Presidents Harrison, and to Presbyterian minister who may have moved to the Roswell GA area many years ago. Your site is interesting and though provoking. Thanks.

Does anyone know about a connection of the Harrison family through the Wright Family to King Edward III? In the Churchyard/Orr homepage, I found a reference to Ellen Gylbert (Gilbert) m. Nicholas Wright (born ca. 1537), as ancestors to Gideon Wright (b. ca 1638, m Elizabeth Townsend). Ellen Gylbert's ancestry can be traced to King Edward III of England. Comments?

Finally found West Virginia County's. Thanks so much! Doing research on the Perry family. Trying to find a Ethel Mae Perry. Parents were a Anna Melissa Lee born in Raliegh County, WV. and a Phelix French Perry. Their daughter Ethel left her daughter as a small child, and I am trying to find her, my grandmother. Really impressed with your homepage, my wife is setting up one for SDGENWEB for a county that she sponsors, and she would like to talk to you about HTML. I have one Harrison in my family tree, but have been unable to find out who her parents are. My Gr-Gr-Gr-Gr-Gr-Grandmother Frances Harrison married James Walker of Surry, Sussex & Greensville Cos., Virginia. James Walker and Frances Harrison is where my family tree is stalled. They were both born before 1765, James Walker died 1818 in Halifax Co., NC, Frances Harrison died 1824 in Halifax Co.,NC. They had six children in the following order: William P., Nancy Jane, James M., Andrew A., John F., and Frances H., I am a direct descendent of John F. Walker. Any information on Frances Harrison would really be appreciated. Thank You.

Hi & Greetings from Down Under, The Harrison page/s look terrific Becky, what a lot of work! There appears to be nothing like it on the WWW re Australian research at the moment....the ones I have seen have been hard to understand, and we seem to have an enormous problem accessing easily accessible, relevant data for research. One day I guess lots more info will come on line. Any-one in Australia got some "stuff" on my West Melbourne relatives...William Harrison, married Christina Gertrude Harley one of their children was my grandmother Ann Elizabeth Harrison I guess you get a lot of enjoyment from it too..Well Done. I`m a total newcomer to both genealogy and the Net but I was attracted to this page - well - because I`m a Harrison (b Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, 25/04/51) as was my father Leslie (b same, 26/01/17) and my grandfather before him (John William, b Dewsbury, Yorkshire, 11/ 04/ 1884). Can I be of use to anyone or can anyone give me an idea where I can get started on my own family tree?

I am delighted you all are stopping by and ... enjoying our website. :-) If you are using Netscape Navigator version greater than 2.0 .. you may not be seeing the most recent versions our pages ... a bug in Netscape. to see the latest greatest you will need to go to Menu, Options, Network Preferences, and clear disk and memory cache which will force Netscape to get the most recent versions. And just a request ... please use our BBS for your queries ... that way folks can post follow-ups to your messages and provide an interesting dialog on family lines :-) Thanks everyone for visiting!

Hi! I'm very new to genealogy and I'm searching for my Harrison ancestors in Georgia. My gg-grandfather was James HARRISON. I do not have any dates for him and I do not know his wifes name. He had several children ( once again I do not know how many) but one of his daughters was Emily Ophelia HARRISON. She is my great-grandmother. Emily married Andrew Jackson MADDOX and they had 8 children, Mary Francis, Ila Mae, L.C., Thelma Lorine, Howell Aubrey, Vertis Virginia, Doris Lucille, Idus Andrew. Thelma is my grandmother and she was born in Gwinette county in 1917. I would love to correspond with anyone who might have a link to these Harrisons. Thanks! Terry
