Fort Chaffee Ark. - (AHTNC) - Army Pfc. George A. Conn, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Conn, Route 1, Connellsville, qualified as expert in firing the carbine here. Conn regularly stationed at the fort as a driver in Battery A of the 27th Artillery's 6th Howitzer Battalion. He attended Connellsville Joint High School before entering the Army in September 1959.

George CONN (1942-2000)

GEORGE CONN, 58, OF Kinzua Lake Parkway in Westline, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at the Kane Community Hospital. He was born April 25, 1942, in Normalville, the son of Edward and Sarah Firestone Conn.

Conn is survived by his wife Wilma Blauser, whom he married on Jan. 20, 1976, in Kane. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Lisa Conn of Westline; three sons, Jim Blauser of Gifford, Brian Conn of Westline and George Conn of Lewis Run; three brothers, Norman Conn of Connellsville, Gerald Conn of Mill Run and Harry Conn of West Lynn, Ore.; three sisters, Shirley Coyle of Sun City, Ariz., Helen Donnini of Crawfordsville, Fla. and Mary Buell of Fairfield, Va.; and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Conn.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the CUMMINGS FUNERAL HOME, INC. in Mt. Jewett with Rev. Bruce Kumber, pastor of the Westline Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department.
