Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hyatt of 305 East North street observed then golden wedding anniversary Sunday, September 10. Marking the occasion was a buffet luncheon served a their home. It was arranged and served by a daughter of the honorees, Mrs. W. M Cable, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. H. Donald Hyatt and a granddaughter, Mrs. Wallace M. Cable. Sharing honors with Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt were a grandson and wile, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace M. Cable, who celebrated their second wedding anniversary Sunday. The former left Tuesday with the 23th Division, Pennsylvania National Guard, for Camp Atterbury, Ind. Another grandson, Robert Earl Beal, who is stationed at a naval base in Boston, Mass, was unable to attend. The aged mother of Mrs. Hyatt, Mrs Rose Hartzell of 320 Ogden street, was also unable to attend because of a hip fracture she suffered some time ago at her home. Because of her absence the fifth generation was not represented.
Sadie Mae Hartzell became the bride of Mr. Hyatt September 9, 1900 at New Centerville, Somerset county, culminating a school romance. Two years after their marriage the couple established a general merchandise store in Scullton. Four years later they moved to this city where they became the proprietors of the East Em Grocery. . Mr. Hyatt was retired last year from the West Penn Railways Company where he was employed for thirty years as a carpenter. Attending the happy festivities were the Hyatt's six children, ten of their seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Eight Children were born to the union, two of whom are deceased, Earl K. and Martha Jean Hyatt. The six: children are Ralph W. Hyatt of South Connellsville, Harold Donald Hyatt of Scottdale, Mrs. Dorothy M. Conaway of Gary, Ind., Mrs. Irene Cable, Mrs. Evelyn Keefer and Mrs. Marguerite Beal of Connellsville.

MRS. JESSE HYATT
Mrs. Sadie May Hyatt, 68, died suddenly at 1:45 o'clock this morning at her home at 305 East North street. Although her death came suddenly, she had been suffering from a heart condition for the past, six years.
Mrs. Hyatt was born at Kempton, Lehigh county, on July 29, 1884, a daughter of the late Alan H. and Rose Smith Hartzell. She had lived virtually all of her life in Connellsville.
Deceased was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church here.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse; two sons, Ralph W. of Pennsville and Donald Hyatt of Scottdale, and four daughters, Mrs. Wilfred (Irene) Cable at home, Mrs, Edward (Evelyn) Keefer and Mrs. George (Marguerite) Beal, both of Connellsville, and Mrs. Rodney (Dorothy) Haley of Gary, Ind. Two children, Earl K. and Martha Jean, preceded her in death. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Wandell and Mrs. George Dunston, both of Connellsville.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home with Rev. Meade M. Snyder, her pastor, offciating. Burial will be made in Hill Grove Cemetery.
