Note*   Joseph was first married to Susannah Sentz on 25 Aug 1838, Columbiana Co, OH. They had the following children:

On 6 March 1871, in Williams Co, OH, Joseph was married to the widow, Magdalena Ritchey (1821 OH - ) .

There are other researchers that have recorded Robert Stewart Dixon as the son of Joseph and Susannah Perky but even though he lived with them, he was the only surviving child of Joseph and his first wife, Susannah Sentz.2

News/Obit* after 30 January 1892  Joseph Dixon, on Smith Street, departed this life after a lingering illness of several weeks, last Wednesday. All preperations for burial were made for Friday, even to the hearse driveing up there, when a telegram reached them that some of their friends were on the road and requested to hold upon their arrival. Funeral ocurred Saturday, Prof. Irish delivering the sermon; burial in Hicksville Cemetery.2
