News/Obit* 31 January 1919  Obituary,

Mrs. Ages Bayless, wife of Walter E Bayless, residing two and a half miles northeast of Alliance died Thursday afternoon from influenza, pneumonia contributing, following illness of little more than a week.

Mrs. Bayless was 34 years of age, born in Lawrence county, Pa., near New Castle, June 14, 1884, she being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus Ellison. Until her marriage ten years ago she had ever lived about New Castle, but since marriage the home has been in Smith township. Mr. (sic) Bayless from girlhood had been a member of the United Presbyterian church, since the marriage being identified with the church in Alliance. She was a most estimable woman, devoted to every duty it was hers to do and her death ring deepest of regret, and sadness, not alone to the home where she was best known for her kindly christian ministrations and virtues, but to church and community as well.

Beside the husband, two children survive, Paul aged 9 years and Ellen aged 7. The parents are also living, together with three sisters and one brother; Miss Edna Ellison, a teacher in the New Castle schools, Miss Rena Ellison at the parental home in New Castle, Mrs. Mabel Hutchison, Denver, Colo., and Clarence Ellison, now at ??, a soldier just home from the service.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday afternoon at one o'clock from the home and will be private. Rev. Dr. McMurray, pastor of the United Presbyterian church to have charge, interment to be made in the Hartzell cemetery at North Benton. Opportunity will be given all at the cemetery to view the remains.
