John Chamness I, was born about 1680 in London, Chester, England, and married about 1712, to Ann Jones, who was born about 1685, in London, both died about 1740 in London.
Her father was John Jones, born about 1665, married about 1680, to Anne ___. They both died he same day, (?) 18 September 1718, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.Children:
Anthony Chamness Sr, son of John Chamness I and Ann Jones, was born in the 1st month of 1713, in Smithfield, London, Chester County, England. He was kidnapped from the London Bridge at the age of 13 in 1726, and brought to Philadelphia where he came under Quaker influence.
He was married/1 on 24 November in 1735, in St Paul�s Parish Church, Baltimore, Maryland, to Sarah Cole, who was born 1da 5mo 1718, in Baltimore County, Maryland, daughter of Joseph Cole and Sushannah __.
The exact date of Sarah�s death is not known, but the last entry of her name in the Monthly Meeting minutes was the 4th of the 5th mo. 1765 when she was appointed to a committee to attend Quarterly Meeting.
Sarah died in 1773 near Cane Creek, Orange County, (or Chatham County ?) North Carolina.
Anthony was married/2 on 1 September 1766, to Rachel Beeson, born 1724, in Hopewell, Frederick County, Virginia. Rachel died 19 March 1771, in Cane Creek, Guilford County, North Carolina, the daughter of Richard Beeson and Charity Grubb, the widow of Stephanus Haworth. (See: Beeson Family � Part III
Anthony was married/3 on 9 May 1776, to Margaret William, born 1721, in Cane Creek, Chatham County, North Carolina. Anthony died 20 October 1777.

Susannah Chamness, daughter of Anthony Chamness and Sarah Cole, was born 31d 3mo 1738, in Baltimore County, Maryland.
She was married 15da 3mo 1763 to Jeremiah Reynolds, who was born 23 November 1726/7 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, the son of William Reynolds and Mary Brown. See: Reynolds Family
Susannah died 4 December 1812; Jeremiah died 4 March 1815, both buried in Providence, Guilford County, North Carolina.
The children were all born in Guilford County, North Carolina.

Joshua Chamness, son of Anthony Chamness Sr and Sarah Cole, was born 5 April 1761, in Orange County, North Carolina.
He was married 6 December 1777 to Rachel Williams, who was born 20 March 1753, in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Ebenezer Reynolds, perhaps grandson of Sushannah Chamness and Jeremiah Reynolds, was married to Rachel Green. Natives of North Carolina, they moved to Wayne County, Indiana, in 1819.

Hannah Reynolds, daughter of Susann Chamness and Jeremiah Reynolds, was born 1 November 1761, Guilford County, North Carolina.
She was married/1 in 28 December 1791, in North Carolina, to William Hoggatt, who was born 9 January 1765, in Guilford County.
William Hoggatt, was born 14 July 1727, and died 27 April 1772, in Virginia. He was married 30 May 1760, in North Carolina to Hannah Beals, who was born in 1741, in Pennsylvania, and died 26 January 1806, in North Carolina
Hannah died 26 January 1826; William died 7 August 1843, both in Guilford, North Carolina.

William B Chamness, son of Joseph Chamness and Margaret Norton, was born 22 July 1766, in Cane Creek, Orange County, North Carolina.
He was married on 9 November 1791, in Center, Guilford County, North Carolina, to Isabel Beeson, who was born 15 January 1771, in New Garden, Guilford County, North Carolina, daughter of Isaac Beeson and Isabel Pearson. (See: Beeson Family-Part III)
They lived 1 mile NW of Dalton, in Wayne County, Indiana.
William died in 1852

Mary Chamness, daughter of Joshua Chamness and Rachel Williams, married Enoch Williams.

He was married about 1818, to Susan/Susannah Reynolds.

William Chamness, the 5th child of William Chamness and Isabel Beeson, was born 26 June 1802 in Randolph County, North Carolina. He was educated in the subscription schools of his native county, and in 1823 moved to Wayne County, Indiana, where he entered 80 acres of Government land, which he cleared and cultivated.
He was married in 1825 to 2,211. Annie Reynolds, daughter of Ebenezer Reynolds and Rachel Green, above.
William followed farming through life with success, and gave his children a good practical education. He served as Magistrate for 20 years, besides holding other local offices of responsibility.
