Generation 7. Son, Eberhard, died 864/6, Margrave of Fruili, married 836/40 to Gisele, who was born about 820, died after 1 July 874, daughter of Emperor Louis I and Judith of Bavaria. Eberhard was Great Great Grandson of Carloman, s/Charles Martel

Generation 4. Conrad, The Old, died 906, Count of Logenahe, married Glismode of Worms, who died in 924, the daughter of Uta and Walahon, Count of Worms 862-881, and great granddaughter of Witichin, Count of Soisson 835-844.

Generation 5. Werner, Count of Worms, father of Conrad. The ancient city of Worms was destroyed by the Huns in 436, and rebuilt by the Merovingians, with a castle in which the Frankish kings, including Charlemagne, occasionally resided.

Generation 5. Conrad, The Wise, the Red, Duke of Lorraine (Lotharingia) and Franconia. He rendered Virginialuable assistance of German King Otto, later Otto the Great, and was married in 947 to Luttgarde (Liutgart) (d 953), daughter of Emperor Otto the Great, and Edith, (See above) He accompanied his father in law to Italy in 951, and when Otto returned to Germany in 952, Conrad remained behind as his representative and signed a treaty with Berengar II, king of Italy, which brought about an estrangement between the German king and himself. He took up arms against Otto, and for awhile held him prisoner, but submitted to Otto in June 954, when he was deprived of his duchy, though permitted to retain his hereditary possessions. He was killed in the Battle of Lechfeld on 10 August 955, while fighting for Otto against the Magyars, and was buried at Worms.
