We officially organized and became a member of the Montana State Genealogical Society in January, 1997. Our goal is to promote genealogy by educating others and to help preserve historical records and the public�s access to such records.
Some of our local on going projects include the documenting of the Sheridan County cemeteries, transcribing of the local community histories from the Sheridan Daybreak books to be put on the Internet and the publishing of the Daybreak III book in September 2005.Our newest project, starting in 2006, is helping the Library with verification of obits and other records from old county newspapers.
