Files (Liberty County)
These files were extracted by Jean Kelley (descendant of
early Montana homesteaders), who graciously donated them to the BMGS for
publication. We thank her for this effort.
- Marriages performed in
Liberty County, from the early 1900’s through about the middle of the
1990’s, are listed alphabetically in the attachment. The indexes and
certificates to 1965 are on Family History Library Film No. 1902876. These files denote the
specific License Number, Marriage Book and Page Number of the event.
- Copies of the marriage
certificate can be obtained from Liberty County Clerk of District Court,
P.O. Box 549, Chester, Montana 59522. Contact them for fees.
- The files for this
county are presented in Excel Format; one for the Bride Listing, and one
for the Groom Listing. These indices do not cross-reference each other.

- To acquire the
spouse’s name you would need to search for the license number on each of
the separate records until a match is located.
