About the L&CC Genealogical Society

The Lewis & Clark County Genealogical Society maintains a genealogy collection of books and periodicals with primary emphasis on Montana cities and counties including valuable sources related to Lewis & Clark County.

Board of Directors

Membership

The Lewis & Clark County Genealogical Society has a membership of sixty four. Membership is open to anyone interested in the study and research of family histories. The membership year is from March 1 to February 28 of the following year. Dues are $16.00 per individual or $21.00 per family.  Use this membership application.

Meetings

The Society's general meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month in the large meeting room in the Lewis & Clark Library, 120 South Last Chance Gulch @ 7:00PM (Location may vary).

Genealogical Library Hours & Staff

The Library is staffed with volunteers of the Lewis & Clark County Genealogical Society and they are available Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Saturday mornings 10:00 AM to Noon.  Search the library catalog.

Research

We request a $5.00 donation to the Society to research a basic query for non-members.  If the $5.00 does not cover all our expenses, we will add the extra charges when we send your information and invoice.  A basic query is defined as researching up to three surnames.

Publications

The Society publishes the Faded Genes quarterly, March, June, September, and December. Organization subscriptions to the Faded Genes publication are $10.00 per year. Members may submit queries to the Faded Genes free of charge. Non-members are charged $2.50 per query. Advertising rates are available from the Editor at lccgen1@gmail.com  The publication is exchanged with other societies both in and out of state. The Faded Genes is indexed in the Periodical Source Index (PERSI) published by the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne,IN.
