Notes for Caron Branham:

The Branham/Brannan/Branan, etc. name descends from Simon O'Breannon, Esq., the Lord Governor of Luttrellstown, Dublin County, Ireland.

The Branham family came to America from Ireland via England to Virginia when

Caron was 12 years old, circa 1695. He came as a bonded servant to George

Davenport. On pg. 87 of "Richmond County Orders" 1697-1699, of the Richmond

County Court (Virginia), is stated:

Charon Brenhan, Servant to George Davenport, being presented to this Court to

have inspection into his age, is adjudged Twelve years old and ordered to serve his said Master or assigns. As history goes most of the Irish who came to America in the late 1600's and early 1700's were indentured servants or exiled "rebels" who had the choice of prison or America.

Caron and Morgave (Margaret) married and raised their family as members of the North Farnham Parish Church in Richmond County, Virginia. (From Registers of North Farnham Parish 1663-1814).
