    IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN
    I WILLIAM SPENCER of Ramsgate in the parish of St Lawrence in the Isle of Thannet in the County of Kent Mariner being in health of body and of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God for the same considering the shortness and uncertainty of this present life do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in writing in manner following (that is to say) Impris I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker trusting assuredly through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer to live with him eternally after this my mortal life shall be ended and my body I commit to the earth decently to be interred at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named And touching the disposition of all such personal estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as followeth And first I Will that my debts funeral charges and probate of this my Will shall be paid and discharged

    Item I give and bequeath unto my oldest son Edwarde Spencer one shilling of lawful money of England to be paid unto him on demand by my Executrix herein after named

    Item All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels and personal effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature quality and degree the same shall exist and be at the time of my death I give and bequeath unto my four children Mary Spencer Sarah Spencer Elizabeth Spencer and Adam Spencer equally to be divided between them and I do hereby make ordain and constitute my daughter the said Sarah Spencer full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke disannul and make void All former Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made

    IN WITNESS WHEREOF I the said WILLIAM SPENCER to this my Last Will and Testament on one sheet of paper contained have set my hand and seal this Seventh day of July in the tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord William the Third by the Grace of God now King of England Anno Dom 1698

    On a mural monument of white marble: "In memory of Sarah, wife of Mr Adam SPENCER, who, dying July ye 2nd 1745 in the 57th year of her age, was deposited with three children in a vault near this place, waiting for a joyful resurrection. She was by Mr Adam Spencer the mother of 9 children, of whom 4 only survive.
    Also, of the abovesaid Mr Adam Spencer, merchant, who died the 23rd of May 1757 aged 68.
    Also of Ann Spencer, relict of George Spencer, youngest son of the above Adam Spencer, who died on the 6th of December 1821 in the 95th year of her age.
    Also in Memory of George HARDY, Esquire, who died the 18th day of August 1786 aged 67 years, and of Ann his wife (daughter of Adam Spencer the elder) who died the 1st day of March 1795 aged 76 years. Likewise of William & Lucy Curtis HARDY, two infant children of George Tickner Hardy, Esquire. Also the above George Tickner Hardy, Esquire, who was born 26th of May 1758 and died 19th of June 1801. Also of Sarah, wife of the above, who died 28th of December 1838 aged 81 years.
    " ARMS, upon two shields: The dexter for HARDY, Argent, on a bend engrailed gules, a crescent between two leopards� heads of the first; on a chief azure, three catherine wheels, or. For Crest, an eagle�s head bendy of four, argent and sable, between two wings the dexter or, the sinister gules, in the beak a pansy flower proper, stalked and leaved vert. THE SINISTER FOR SPENCER, Parti per pale, quarterly 1st & 4th. Argent; 2nd & 3rd Gules, a fret, or, over all on a bend, sable, three escallops of the first. Impaling Barry of six, azure and gules, a chief ermine.

    "In a vault beneath are deposited the remains of Ann SPENCER, relict of Capt. George Spencer youngest son of Adam Spencer beneath, who died the 6th of December 1821 in the 95th year of her age. Here also lies the Body of Sarah Spencer, aged 57 years. Also of Adam Spencer, aged 68 years. Also three of their children. Also of George TICKNOR, who died the 25th of January 1754 aged 41 years. Also William, son of the above said Adam and Sarah Spencer, he were (sic) buried the 28th September 1761 aged ../ years." Also Mary, wife of Adam Spencer, Jun., She died 26th August 1783 aged 64 years and 11 months. Also of the said Mr Adam Spencer, Junr. who died 26th day of March 1791 aged 78 years. Also of Mr George HARDY, who died the 18th day of August 1786 aged 66 years. Also of Ann Hardy, daughter of the same Adam Spencer, Sen., and relict of the same George Hardy, who died the 1st March 1795 aged 76 years. Also of William and Lucy Curtis Hardy, children of George Ticknor Hardy, son of the said George and Ann Hardy, his wife, who died in their infancy."
