    Nicholas Stone, gent. The Complainant and his ancestors have been seised of the Impropriation of Framfield for a great many years. Nicholas Stone mentioned in the Interrogatory was grandfather of the deponent and great grandfather of the Complainant. The two William Stones mentioned were grandfather and father of the complainant Hugh Offley of Waldron, gent., aged 55 David Stone, gent., aged 50. Occupier of 30 ac. of meadow in Framfield John Smith junr., yeoman, aged 30, mentioned James Feilder (p. 35) as a signatory to agreement as to costs of suit Edward Wilson, clerk, of Rye, aged 65. Was vicar of Framfld for 14 years from 1686-1700 John Paris of Framfield, aged 80 years, born in the parish James Durrant, Thos. Butler and Samuel Butler, already produced as witnesses for the compalainant John Earle, William Ashfold, Michael Brooker Robert Gorringe of Framfeild, farmer Burnt House farm in Framfeild belonging to John Meres Fagg, esq. was occupied by Wm.     Thomas [Secker], Archbishop of Canterbury, to the Vicar and Churchwardens of Framfield Recites 1 that Richard Rideout of Framfield, esq, is the owner of a house, farm and land in Framfield 2 that there is a pew in Framfield church 'adjoining to the great chancel of the said church on the East to the middle isle of the said church on the north to the main pillar which separates the body of the said church from the South Isle thereof on the South and to a certain pew or seat belonging to Mr. William Durrant in respect of a certain farm in Framfield called Hylands, Mr. John Ridge for a farm called Tarble Down and to Robert Driver for a house in Framfield'. Frances Alchorne of Lewes, spinster, by instrument, 27 Feb, 1734, released her third in the pew to Richard Rideout, father of Richard Rideout, owner of the messuage, late Everenden's. By instrument, 12 Feb 1756, James Feilder of Framfield, yeo, released his right to another third part to Richard Rideout, jun, who owns the remaining third 3 Recites grant AMS3687(i) The Surrogate Rev Edward Lund cited the vicar, church-wardens and parishioners to the church of St Thomas at Cliffe near Lewes on 1 Aug 1760 to show cause why the faculty should not be granted to Richard Rideout but as no person appeared the Archbishop confirms the pew marked out in the chancel of Framfield church to Richard Rideout 'his heirs and successors owners or occupiers of the said capital messuage or dwelling house farm and lands in Framfield', saving the rights of William Stone as mentioned above with a proviso for repairs to the pew Seal of the Archbishop's Official
