From Kim - more about Francis Andrews, what he looked like & punishments for stepping out of line

I went looking at the Tasmanian archives
  • Tasmanian Archives

  • there's a very comprehensive description of him - page 199 - here's the link

  • it wasn't the first time he'd been in trouble - page 102 conduct register, not easy to read/understand some of it
  • Francis Andrews had attitude!

  • Did 'our' Francis Andrews die at Stoney Creek, Singleton in 1870?

    From Kim:
The Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser Thursday 8 December 1870:

    From Ray:
I think that this was probably the Francis Andrews transported to NSW on "Captain Cook" in 1833. He was assigned W.S.Bell at Patrick Plains (now Singleton) in 1837 and was granted a Ticket-of-Leave on 18.11.1837. He was then at Invermein, which is now the town of Scone (that name adopted in 1838). I took the above information from the "Free or Felon" site.

So, where did "our Francis Andrews" "John (2) 1833" die?
