             Last rites held for Mrs. Maggie Latham Jan. 20, 1965 

Services were held for Mrs. Maggie Deloria Latham, 81, of Mathiston, Jan. 20, 1965 in Clarkson Baptist Church with burial in the New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearer�s were grandson�s, Roy Lee Latham, Jimmy D. Latham, William Earl Hill, Robert Lee Hill, Bobby Wayne Allen, and Thomas Earl Allen. Mrs. Latham, who had suffered third degree burns one week earlier, died in the University Hospital, Jackson, Jan. 19. She and her husband Edd Latham had been married 57 year�s. She was a member of the Bethel Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include her husband Edd Latham, of Mathiston; three daughter�s, Mrs. Beatrice White, Mrs. Mary Alice Allen, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Hill all of Mathiston; two son�s, Wm. G. Latham, of Mathiston; and Eckford Latham of Starkville; one brother Walter Shaffer, of Hollis, Oklahoma; and three sister�s, Mrs. Ruby White, Maben, Mrs. Ada Burgess, of Montague, Texas; and Mrs. Mertie Morris of Nocona, Texas; 23 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Rev. James Green and Rev. E. M. Gordon conducted the funeral services with Oliver Funeral Home in charge.
