I am looking for any information on the family of Robert E. Lee Minton was married to Claire Josephine Tenhet, but I don't know where or when. They had 5 children. Elvin Lorene born 1914, Houston Earl born 1916, Mildred Corene born 1918 ( died of measles 1925), Morris Edward born 1920 (died in 1925), and Robert E. Lee, Jr. born 1924 or 1925. Claire also died in 1925 I believe in childbirth. Robert Sr., Elvin and Houston moved to the Jackson MS area of Rankin Co. I do know that in 1920 they lived near the city of Enid in TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY. Robert E. Lee Sr. had 1 brother, Green Minton (possibly Tomis Green Minton) and 1 sister Alice Minton. Claire Josephine Tenhet had 4 sisters. Vera (married to Vic Craft), Ruby (married to Joe Ray), Agnes (married to Herbert Morgan), and Dalma Lee.

I am looking for any information on this family. John Warren Minton and Rebecca Wilson are my great grandparents. They lived in the area of Wesson MS, in 1890 because that is where my grandfather Robert E. Lee Minton was born. They had 2 other children, Green Minton and Alice Minton. I have no other knowledge of them so I don't know if they were older or younger siblings to my grandfather. I found a Tomis Green Minton on the WWI Draft Registration, born 1/8/1884, it says a relative lives in Wesson. If that date is correct, and if this is the same person as Green Minton that would make him 6 yrs old when Robert E. Lee was born. Possibly moved to TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY with their son Robert E Lee Minton

Catherine Robertson b 1821 Al, moved to Tallahatchie Co, Miss with her pars. She md William Taylor, presumably in Tallahatchie. Has been reported they settled in Tallahatchie, but unable to determine that for sure. Their ch were Richard b 1847, Jane b 1853, Nathaniel b 1854 and Charles C. b 1860. Using the 1880 census, but unable to pinpoint these folks for certain. Would enjoy discussing this branch with a descendent or anyone researching them.

At some point a book was written by Mabel Smith Sykes regarding families who were in Tallahatchie Co, Miss. Among those families were descendants of Ephraim Robertson and Frances "Nancy" Carroll of Tallahatchie. I don't know the name of this book, but am trying to procure a copy. If anyone can help me with this problem, please let me hear from you.
