Looking for Information regarding ancestors to Leola Burns (AKA Lela Robinson) siblings were all born in Tallahatchie. Parents were John Burns and Fannie Bullock. Fannie born in January of 1873 and John born in March of 1873. Both parents died while children were young. Siblings were: Fannie, Tom, Jessie Bell (Sally), Jessie James, Algenia (AKA Zinc): died at 8 yrs old) and Solomon (died at 4 yrs old) Leola's paternal Grandparents were Jimmy Burns (Orig. sold from Gardner Plantaion to Burns Plantation and Eliza Burns (Full Blooded African Slave).

Was the Charles EWING in the 1850 Tallahatchie census the son of Charles EWING whose will was probated in 1848 in Madison Co AL? (See Madison Co. query for more detail.) Was he the same Charles EWING who married Elizabeth McGAUGHEY 2 Aug 1825, Lawrence Co AL? I am looking for census records of descendants of Charles EWING of AL. Daughter Sarah married Samuel W. Looking for a J.Q. (possibly Quincy) and Grace LEWELLEN. Father was Sidney Harrison LEWELLEN, bn in MS. JQ and Grace was born between 1885 - 1910 possibly in Tallahatchie CO. MS. The story goes that Sidney got into a fight and killed a man then fled. We believe it was somewhere in MS. He then married my grandmother Margaret Ann Elizabeth May Belle Pruitt who was born in MS. Sidney died at the age of 60 in 1933 in Loretto TN. The last name could be spelled various ways. We don't know if he divorced his first wife or not.
