I'm looking for information about ANCESTORS of my GG Grandparents, ROBERT E. LEE and his wife, MARY JANE BULLOCK LEE who came to TALLAHATCHIE county no later than 1838 and lived there for many years. Robert was b.1816 in GA,d.in Tallahatchie after 1860. Mary Jane was b. 1820, Granville Cty NC,d. Tallahatchie 1882. Both buried in Rocky Branch Cemetery along with Andrew Jim Lee, b.1786-d.1855,Margaret N. Lee1791-1868, Jane, Lula and T.A. Lee.Early records show Andrew Lee,Jr. Andrew Lee Sr., Thomas E. Lee. Can't figure out how these people are related.Some were born in S.C. Intermarried with Trewolla,Jenkins,Bailey, Cossar,et al families.Bullocks came from NC with the Gooch,Sneed,Mangums,Colemans,etc. A.H. Bullock listed in 1840 census. Am responding to earlier query by E. Rogers Pleasant whose email address was invalid. I am researching the LEE, BULLOCK, COSSAR, HARPER, THOMPSON, and SIMMONS families of TALLACHATCHIE CO., MS. I am a descendant of DR.FOSTER HOCKETT and FLORIDA SIMMONS. FLORIDA SIMMONS' second marriage, after the death of DR. F.H.THOMPSON, was to DR. GEORGE WASHINGTON PAYNE. The COSSARS, LEES, BULLOCKS, and HARPER lines are all related to this family, coming from South Carolina, to Georgia, and to TALLAHATCHIE and YALOBUSHA Cos. in MS.I have a large amount of family data to share, but need more clues to earlier individuals.

Looking for descendants of George W. RICE and wife Elizabeth W. "Lizzie" SHERMAN. They were married in Tallahatchie Co, MS 24 Apr 1864, and were on the 1870 census. They moved to Faulkner Co, AR, and both are buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery. We have two RICE couples buried in the same cemetery, born in AL as was George. Is there any relationship? We have more on our RICE line and would be glad to share, if there is a connection.
