Did you know that Tallahatchie County has 2 County seats? Yes they are, Charleston, and Sumner. Mississippi are the county seats.Tillatoba was a county seat for a while, but in 1837 the Board of Police found it necessary to abandon Tillatoba and seek another location. Many times when our ancestors disappear from a county, they have merely moved to a neighboring county.  Sometimes they haven't moved at all but the county line moved putting them in a different county.
