TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY

MISSISSIPPI CENSUS

This census is exactly as it appears on roll V229-3-Mississipi State and Territorial Counties Census 1792-1866. The census for Tallahatchie County was taken in 1841. It was difficult to read some of the names, therefore; there will be an * by a name that I was not sure of. The Gif with Tallahatchie 1841 is an exact copy of the county and date as appears on the census. The page numbers are as they appear on the census. It appeared that the census taker tried to take the census alphabetically, but at the end he had some that were not.

This document had to be done in tables in order to keep the alignment. It is impossible as I see it to type with tabs and everything stay as it should. This can not be done and put on the web. You will have to scroll back and forth across the page. There are 28 cells, and I know of no way to make them smaller and still be able to read them.

The 1841 Tallahatchie County Territorial Census has been broken into Seven (7) pages. It took too long to load it in it's entirety. You can now access each page at a much faster speed.
