about David Burns TURNIPSEED of Sharkey County. He was born in 1827 and
died at the Confederate Soldiers Home Beauvoir and Biloxi, Ms. in 1910.
He was married three times: (1) Permelia Jane Moore (1839-1870); (2) Mary

regarding Gabe Nelson, born 1885, who is believed to have lived and died
in Panther Burn with his wife Hattie Richardson. They had 5 children including
Daisybell, Emitt, Eddie. As a white man married to a black woman in the

I am interested in finding
information regarding a Tribble family who lived in or near Egremont in
the early 1900's. It is my understanding that they lived on a large farm
owned by Mr. E.B. Cook. His wife, Annie Tribble, was my paternal great

My grandfather was born
in Rolling Fork, Sharkey Co. in January of 1884. His name was William Leonard
PENDARVIS.
I do know that his father's name was William Jack Pendarvis and his mother
was M. Rebecca INGRAM, but that is about all. I've come up against
a brick wall. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

William JEANS/JEANNES
born ca. 1828 Washington Co., IN. William married an Elizabeth RUTHERFORD
born ca. 1830 in TN. He migrated to the Rolling Fork area 1855-1860. Both
William and Elizabeth died in Sharkey County shortly after 1870.
Joseph JEAN (brother
or cousin to William) born 1833 Washington Co., IN. He migrated to Issaquena
County 1855-1860. In 1866, he married Louise Cynthia SULLIVAN supposedly
in the Issaquena area. Louise was the daughter of J. J. SULLIVAN and Catherine
DAUGHTERY.
She and three sisters were orphaned at an early age and were raised by
a family named PARKS. Joseph and Cynthia lived near Anguilla until
the 1870s when the family moved to Iowa.

I am searching for information
on my grandmother, Lovie Beatrice DENMAN. Her father was Albert
Denman and her mother was Martha Owens Denman. . Lovie Denman was born
18 January 1892 in Rolling Fork.
I would also like information
on the Delta Hotel, located in Sharkey County around 1900. Martha Denman
may have been the owner or manager. This information was from the Deer
Creek Pilot newspaper. Was this a newspaper in Sharkey County? I do not
know what towns the Delta Hotel or Deer Creek Pilot Newspaper was in. Any
information you can tell me, I would greatly appreciate.
