Thomas Lee Todd, 79, of Booneville, died Saturday August 31, 1996 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was a member of Hills Chapel Church of Christ, a retired fanner and a retired employee of the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Services were Monday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Kenneth Orick Officiating. Burial was in Little Brown Cemetery. .

BOONEVILLE - Cecelia Price Tollison, 55, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. She was a secretary at Northeast Mississippi Community College and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed building willow furniture. She was the daughter, of the late Cecil E. and Lucille Lester Price.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today al McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Owen and the Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Creek Cemetery.

MARIETTA - Troy T. Tollison Jr., 45, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003. He was a resident of the Kirkville community and a truckdriver. He was of the Holiness faith.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Waters Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Sis. Frances Blakney officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

CORINTH - John Richard Toomer, 58, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at his home. He graduated from Easom High School in 1965 and attended Mississippi Valley State University. He worked for Heyer Motor Company and Chryster Motor Company. He enjoyed fishing and sports.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Patterson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James White officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include two brothers, Ossie Toomer and wife, Shirley, and Willie Toomer and wife, Eva; three sisters, Mary White and husband, James, Geneva Hunter and Alma Gallbresth; special friends, James Morrison, Mike Sutton, Howard Walker, Sara Monroe, Fannie Sorrell, Ora Galyean and Deloris Kopf.

She worked at Timber Products Company in Corinth and attended the Church of God and Christ. She enjoyed fishing, shopping, coloring and, most of all, spending time with her son.

BOONEVILLE Audrey Lee Crabb Trantham, 91, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1997, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, O. S. Trantham.

Rites Held Sat. For Mrs. Wade Trantham
Mrs. Wade Trantham, 73, died, Wednesday at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital, after a 1engthy illness. Mrs. Trantham was the former Miss Alma Clayton, daughter of the late Hardy Clayton and Mrs. Peyton Randolph Clayton, a prominent family of Blackland and the Geeville communities. Mr. Clayton was a well known teacher in this county for a number of years.
Mrs. Trantham descended from a scholarly family, the Randolphs, who were outstanding in the professional fields of service. Mrs. Clayton's late brothers, Dr. T. L. Randolph of Ripley, and Dumas, the Rev. Joseph Buyce Randolph was a former Presiding Elder of the Corinth District. He was serving as pastor of the First Methodist Church in Columbus at the time of his death. J. A. Randolph was a Chaplain in the United States Army. All were well known throughout Mississippi.
Mrs. Trantham, who received her education at Union University, taught in the elementary schools of the county for a period of thirty-eight years, from early womanhood until her retirement. After the completion of her teaching, she continued the various connections through which she rendered services to worthy community projects.
Mrs. Trantham, active in her profession, demonstrated administrative talents of a high order and through her leadership the schools made notable records of progress and in scholarship. She placed greater emphasis on excellence and her pleasing manner contributed much to her success.
Her warmth of humanity found practical ways of helping others, a motivating force of her endeavors i throughout a long and useful life. She was affectionate, generous and kind in her home life and family relationships. With her endearing manner, she held a loving place in the hearts of her family, friends and neighbors. An active member of the Blackland Methodist Church, she taught in the Sunday School for a number of years and was a leader in planning the spiritual programs and activities of her church.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Blackland Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery with McMillan Funeral Home in charge.
She leaves her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Vera Walters of Aberdeen; two brothers, Burtin Clayton of Rockford, Rl., and Vincent Clayton, of Baldwyn; two sisters, Mrs. Valcour Smith of Booneville, and Mrs. Helen K. Ritter of Amory, and three grandchildren.

IUKA - Opal Lambert Travis, 84, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was formerly employed with the civil service and traveled the world, including Sri Lanka, Japan, Korea and the former Soviet Union.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Burial will be in the Belmont City Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Betty Ann Orick of Iuka.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Lee Travis.

KENOSHA, Wisc. - Lyle Trimble, 81, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at his home after an extended illness. He was a retired auto worker and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Kenosha. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the UAW. He loved gardening and fishing.

BURNSVILLE - James L. Trimm, 43, died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at the Iuka Hospital. He was a police officer in Tishomingo and Alcorn counties for more than 15 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Shane Evetts officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

MARVIN TROLLINGER
BOONEVILLE - Marvin James Trollinger, 101, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1901, in Tishomingo County to the late Lem and Julia O'Neal Trollinger. He was a retired farmer and after retirement did yard work for the public on his tractor for over 20 years. He was a member of the North Rienzi Church of Christ for 80 years and served there as an Elder for over 40 years. He was married to Mable Henry Trollinger for over 45 years; she died in 1973. He loved his family and working with the church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Rest Church of Christ with Bro. Gene Thornton and Bro. Steve Pope officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Salt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Pauline DeCicco and her husband, Phil, of Warrington, Pa.; three sons, Doyle Trollinger and his wife, Dons, of Booneville, Gilbert Trollinger and his wife, Wanda, of Judsonsia, Ark., and Gene Trollinger and his wife, Faye, of Rienzi; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mable Henry Trollinger; his parents, Lem and Julia Trollinger; two brothers, Frank Trollinger and infant brother, Arlan Trollinger; two sisters, Cora Sanders and Hattie Bailey; one grandson, Terry Trollinger.

William Terry Trollinger, 32, of Cullman, Ala., died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 31, at Cullman Medical Center.
Memorial services were Friday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Grove Methodist Church in Bremen, Ala., with Doyle Bullard and Rodney Anderson officiating. Higdon Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.
Mr. Trollinger was a 1975 graduate of Booneville High School and lived most of his life in Prentiss County. He was an employee of Brown Minneapolis Tank Company in Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife Sherry West Trollinger; a son, Zachary, and a daughter, Jasary, of Cullman; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Trollinger of Booneville; his grandparents, Marvin Trollinger of Booneville and Mr. and Mrs. Grafton Burns of Marietta.
WILLIAM C. TROTTER
TUPELO - William Clifford Trotter, 70, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born Nov. 12, 1933, in Lewistown, Mont., to the late William Chipman Trotter and Rose Guyer Trotter. He worked with the National Park Service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne. He enjoyed flowers, yard work, collecting statues, and cooking for family and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo with the Rev. Terry Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Merle Green and husband, Larry, of Nettleton, and Roxie Flores and husband, John, of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Billy Trotter and wife, Trisha, of Dorsey, and Mike Trotter and wife, Donita, of Belmont; 10 grandchildren, Heather Carroll, Maggie Trotter and Cody Trotter, all of Dorsey, Michael Green and his wife, Terri, of Saltillo, Lauren Green of Nettleton, Scott Trotter of Florence, Ala., and Bret Burton and Tyler Burton of Belmont; two great-grandchildren, Baxton Carroll and Alexis Green.

JOHN W. TRUE
John W. True, 70 years of age, and a long-time resident of Booneville died at his home Thursday night of last week at 9:30, following injuries sustained about ten days previous when he was struck by a falling tree which broke his leg and hip. His condition seemed to improve up until a short time before his death, when he suddenly took a turn for the worse.
Funeral services were conducted from the late home Saturday morning, Bro. S. H. Williamson, by request, conducting the ceremony assisted by Bro. W. H. Mounger and Bro. J. D. Thompson and Bro. J. T. Gullett.
Deceased is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Moore, and two sons, Will and Waddy True and one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Allen, his children all-residing in Memphis. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mr. True, during his fifty years' residence here had won a host of friends who deeply mourn his departure. At the time of his accident he was employed in the capacity of manager of Fish Lake and was cleaning up the grounds preparatory to the opening of the fishing and swimming season when injured.

MRS. PEARL TRULL
The many friends of Mrs. Pearl Fraser Trull were saddened when they learned of her death last Friday night, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Burns in Booneville.
She was about 48 years of age and most of her life had been spent in and around Booneville, where she had a host of friends. She was the daughter of the late D. L. Fraser and Mrs. Fraser.
Mrs. Trull is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Ruth Fraser; daughter, Miss Ruth Trull of Booneville; a daughter in Jackson, Tenn.; two sons in Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Davis, Florence, Alabama; and four brothers, Arthur of New Mexico, Fred of Arkansas, and Clovis and Pink of Booneville.
Funeral services were held at Liberty last Saturday and were conducted by Bro. Wages. At the close of the services, her body was laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery, by the side of her husband, J. B. Trull.
The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.
McMillan and Son had charge of the funeral arrangements.

DYERSBURG, Tenn. - G.B. Trulove, 64, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Maplewood Health Care Facility in Jackson, Tenn. He was a retired employee of TVA and a Baptist.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kesler-Coggins Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Paul Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

TISHOMINGO - James L. Trussell, 68, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, as the result of an accidental drowning at Crow's Neck near Paden. He was the manager of the cutting department at Golden Manufacturing in Golden. He was a former alderman for Paden. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW. He attended the Providence Baptist Church in Ackerman. He was an avid fisherman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.T. Dexter and the Rev. J.B. Burns officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo Cemetery.

CORINTH - O.C. Tubbs, 74, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born July 17, 1929, to the late Oscar Lee and Hester Tubbs. He was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and drinking coffee with his friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Branon Rushing officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Tubbs of Corinth; a brother, Charles Tubbs of Corinth; three brothers-in-law, Dewey Latch and wife, Christine, Donnie Latch and Lory Latch, all of Corinth; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Killough and Kathryn Latch, both of Corinth, and Sue Latch of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

JIMMY DARRELL TUCKER
Jimmy Darrell Tucker, 72, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at his home in Rowlett, Texas.
Services were Monday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Celina, Texas, with Dr. Jim Moebes officiating.
Burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery near Celina.
Mr. Tucker was born in Texas March 22, 1929. He spent his life in service, over 20 years at Astralloy Waer Technologies until his retirement as president in 1991. He served in the Army in the Korean Conflict and also in the Naval Reserve. A 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner, he was a member of Keystone Lodge 1143 in Dallas, Zamora Temple of Birmingham, Ala., and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Corinth. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rowlett.
He is survived by daughters, Gale Tucker and Sherry Tucker of Garland, Texas; Harriett Kemp of Corinth; sister, Ruby Butts and husband, John, of Garland; nephews, David Butts and wife, Lori, of Richardson, Texas; niece, Linda Butts of Frisco, Texas; great-nieces, Danica and Madison Butts of Richardson; grandchildren, Rich and Bret Butler; and great-grandson, Jay Butler.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

CORINTH - Dorothy Marvene Tucker, 81, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Country Cottage Assisted Living Center. She was born March 24, 1922, in Beebee, Ark., to Elwyn and Ola Carrigan Dubose. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a dietitian for the state hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers G. W. Childs and Dick Desing officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Harold Guy Tucker of Corinth, Charles Wayne Tucker of Germantown, Tenn., James Edward Tucker of Ramer, Tenn., and Herbert Ray Tucker of Daphne, Ala.; two daughters, Janola Howard of Memphis and Linda Jo Dixon of Corinth; one brother, Billy Joe Dubose of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Winifred Jackson of Needles, Calif., and Eloise Jackson of Victorville, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Edward Leon Tucker, on Oct. 10, 1993.

Ethel Irene Tucker, 90, of Oxford, formerly of Booneville, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford after a brief illness.
Services were Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Black and the Rev. Huey Wood officiating. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery.
Mrs. Tucker had been a substitute school teacher in the Prentiss County School System and member of Christ United Methodist Church. She had been active in the Blackland RCDC and the UMW and taught Adult Sunday School Class in the past. She was the widow of Ocie E. Tucker.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue Hale and her husband, Lance, of Oxford; one son, Jimmy Tucker and his wife, Ann, of Corinth; two sisters, Pauline Bailey of Tupelo and Cleaburn "Teabe" Crawford of Memphis; two grandchildren, Kim Hale and Scott Hale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eliza Jane McCutchen; one son, Ellis Tucker; and three brothers, Clovis, Clarence and L.C. "Brown" McCutchen.

RIENZI - Linda Tucker, 57, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at her home in Rienzi. She was a member of Hinkle Baptist Church and an employee of Quebecor of Corinth. She enjoyed yard sales and shopping, and loved her family and grandchildren.

Confederate Vet Dies; Buried at Hillsboro
Robert D. Tucker aged 81, died at the home of his Son, J. O. Tucker, near Pisgah last Monday night. He had been in declining health for some time. The body was prepared for burial and shipped to Forest, Mississippi, to be conveyed to the family burying ground near Hillsboro, Mississippi. Although a lad of very tender years he saw several months' service in the Confederate Army, being one of the longest enlisted men.
He was the son of Bro. Tucker, a pioneer minister whose home was near Pisgah. He is survived by his son J. O. Tucker and other children and grandchildren, and also by a brother, A. M. Tucker, of Des Arc, Arkansas and two sisters, Mrs. W. N. Nunley and Mrs. Tennie Henson

IUKA - Ross Carlton Tucker, 76, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. He was a member of the Iuka United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa. He was retired from Gordon Transport after 29 years of employment and was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 667 in Memphis.
Services will be at 3:30 today at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with the Rev. Malcolm Garrett and the Rev. Ed Temple officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Tucker of Iuka; a daughter, Carleta McDuffy and husband, Dennis, of Iuka; a grandson, Jeremy McDuffy of Iuka.

BIRMINGHAM - Thomas A. Tucker, 54, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005. He was a former volunteer firefighter for the City of Trussville, Ala., and a mechanic. He was a good friend to many and will be greatly missed.

BOONEVILLE - Wallace Clayton Tucker, 67, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at his home. He was born May 27, 1937, in Prentiss County to Marcus Frank "Mark" Tucker and Lena Mae Honeycutt Tucker. He attended the Church of Christ. He was a timber cutter and a small engine mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Jacinto Church of Christ with Minister Ed Floyd and Minister Terry Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Jacinto Church of Christ Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

OAKLAND - Jerry Mike Tuders, 49, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. He was a millwright and a member of Carpenters Local 1444 in Memphis. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

IUKA - Mart Tuders Sr., 81, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Ala. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He was a lifetime member of the Carpenters Union Local 303. He enjoyed fishing.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with the Rev. Jeff McKee and the Rev. Marshall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Moore's Cemetery in Iuka.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Tuders of Iuka; three sons, Mart, Jr., and Marcy Tuders of Martin, Tenn., Mike and Virginia Tuders of Charleston, and Thomas and Wilma Tuders of Iuka; a daughter, Lenora and Robert Beard of Iuka; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Samuel Charles "Sam" Turnbough, 59, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at his home.
Services were Friday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wallace South officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 6, 1942, in Bunker, Mo., the son of Lawrence Edward Turnbough and Hazel Louise Camden Turnbough. He was a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Dunn) Turnbough; four daughters, Shelly Lambert and her husband, Michael, of Rienzi, Bridgett Moss of Glen, Karen Dunn and her husband, Greg, of Potosi, Mo., and Kim Trey and her husband, Roger, of Scott City, Mo.; a son, Christopher Turnbough and his wife, Minnie, of Wharton, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

IUKA - Betty Jean Turner, 73, formerly of Huntsville, Ala., died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at the Iuka Hospital. She was a former employee of Huntsville Manufacturing in Huntsville, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Turner, and a son, Roshell Turner.

EMMONS TURNER JR.
David Emmons Turner Jr., businessman, church and community leader, and devoted family man, died at age 88 on June 18, 1997, at his home at the Methodist Senior Services, Traceway Manor, Tupelo.
After graduating Tupelo High School and attending Southwest University and the University of Mississippi, Emmons began his career as a math teacher in Lee County. Following two years in education, he worked in several different businesses in Tupelo. In 1934 he entered the garment industry, working first for Tupelo Garment Company and later for Mid-South Manufacturing Company. In 1947 he joined L. L. Bethay in Booneville to establish the Prentiss Manufacturing Company, where he held the position of vice president until his retirement in 1974. One year later, he opened the Magnolia Frame Shop in Booneville, which he operated successfully for several years.
While in Booneville, Emmons was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities including Sunday School teacher, chairman of the Administrative Board, lay speaker, chairman of the Trustees, Council of Ministries, Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and conference delegate.
Emmons's services to the Booneville and Tupelo community were numerous. He served 21 years on the Board of the Methodist Senior Services; was Cub and Boy Scout master in both the Tupelo and Booneville Boy Scouts; was instrumental in organizing the United Way Fund and the Red Cross blood drives; chaired the Booneville Library Building Commission; and was an active member of the Booneville Lions and Rotary Clubs and the Tupelo Kiwanis Club.
For his services to the Boy Scouts, Emmons received the Silver Beaver Award from the Yocona Area Council. While in Booneville, he received the 1974 Community Service Award, the 1978 Outstanding Citizen Award, the 1988 United Way Community Leadership Award and, from the Rotary Club, the 1978 Paul Harris Fellow Award.
DELBERT L. TURNER SR.
MANTACHIE - Delbert L. Turner Sr., 90, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at the Cedars Health Center in Tupelo. A lifelong resident of Itawamba County, he was the son of the late Elbert Lee and Minnie Flanigan Turner. He was a fencer for more than 60 years and the custodian at Mantachie Schools for 27 years. He was a charter member of the Mantachie Church of Christ, where he was the treasurer for many years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McNeece Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie with Ministers Paul Swindle, Delbert L. Turner Jr., Greg Swindle, George Barriers and Bob O'Rear officiating. Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery.

JANE WORD TURNER
TUPELO - Jane Theodosia Word Turner, 87, died at her home at Methodist Senior Services, Traceway Manor in Tupelo. She was born July 2, 1916, in the Wren community of Monroe County to Thomas Lawler word and Corinne Williams Word. She graduated from Wren High School and attended Mississippi State College for Women. She married Emmons Turner Jr. on Oct. 26, 1935. She lived in Tupelo, where she was the society editor for the Daily Journal and an active member of the First United Methodist Church. After moving to Booneville in 1948 she was an active member of the Booneville First United Methodist Church, where she was superintendent of the children's division, Bible School director, Administrative Board member and Sunday school teacher. She also served in many offices of the local and district United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Federated Women's Club, the Inter-Civic Club Council, and the Friends of the Library in both Booneville and Tupelo. She was a Cub Scout den mother and was instrumental in the formation of the Booneville High School Band Parents Association. In 1991 she was named Booneville's Outstanding Citizen of the Year. She was a volunteer worker with United Way, Easter Seals, March of Dimes, Heart Association and Multiple Sclerosis Association. She served on the Booneville Library Board for 40 years and the Northeast Regional Library Board for 25 years, serving as chairman for five years. In 1976 the Mississippi Library Association honored her with the Golden Book Award for her outstanding promotion of library awareness and library service. She was instrumental in creating the George E. Allen Library, Booneville's first library, as well as the original Booneville City Park in the early 1950s. After returning to Tupelo in 1991, she was active in the First United Methodist Church of Tupelo, the Mutual Culture Club and the Peripatetic Club. Known for her "green thumb," she enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding birds, and all of nature. A beloved wife and mother, a devoted friend, and a faithful church and community servant, she loved her family, her church, her friends and her community.

IUKA - Michael Kevin Turner, 40, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, in Burnsville. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Iuka. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and reading, and loved animals.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Spring Hill Cemetery with Bro. William Lambert and Bro. Dwayne Whitehurst officiating. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.

BALDWYN - Otis Edward Turner, 62, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Greenville, S.C. to the late Marvin and Annie Lee McBee Turner. He was a 1960 graduate of the Roger School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was an employee of Valley Mould Corp. in Youngstown, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler in many leagues in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a former member of New Bethel Baptist Church. After moving to Booneville in October 2000, he united with Ruben Chapel CME Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ruben Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Lawrence McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the Ruben Chapel Cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

CORINTH - Prentiss Lane Turner Sr., 63, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1940, in the Gift community to the late Arthur and Mallie Smith Turner. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a retired contractor and farmer. He loved spending time with friends and family.

Thomas Oscar “Tom” Turner, Sr., age 83, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the V.A. Nursing Home in Oxford. He was born November 29, 1934, in Booneville to Albert O. Turner and Clara Willie Mims Turner. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Air Force as an electronic tech. After his service he worked as a TV repairman. Tom was a member of the Jumpertown United Methodist Church.

Una Johnsey Turner, 68, of Corinth, died June 29, 1999 at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

He was born Aug. 27, 1945, in Tishomingo County to Carl and Lois Milam Turvaville. He grew up in the Moore's Mill community of Tishomingo County. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He was a truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Haskell Sparks and Steve Hodgins officiating. Burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Harris Turvaville, whom he married Feb. 12, 1970; his mother, Lois Turvaville of Hammond, Ind.; a brother, Jimmy Dale Turvaville and fiancee, Sherry, of Hammond, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret A. Mrs. H. N. (Agnes H.) Tutor, 79, of 1003 Washington St., Booneville, died Saturday, Sept. 28, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.
Services were Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.
Mrs. Tutor was the widow of H. N. Tutor. Mrs. Tutor, a retired school teacher, taught school from 1923 to 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. T. (Jane T.) Rutledge of Booneville; three brothers, Dudley Houpt of Tunica, Noel Houpt of Randolph, and Carl Houpt of Marks; two sisters, Idell Tutor of Pontotoc and Erline Bullard of Bruce; and two grandchildren.

PONTOTOC - James Lee Tutor, 75, died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. He was a retired building superintendent at the First Baptist Church, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pontotoc, where he was a member of the building committee and the Monday morning prayer breakfast group.

MRS. LELIA INEZ PHILLIPS G. TWICHELL
Mrs. Lelia Inez Phillips G. Twichell 100, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Bayside Convalescent Center in Poquoson, Va.
A memorial service was conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, by Dr. George L. Oehler at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Twichell was born in Booneville. She was a Peninsula resident for the past 23 years; after moving from Evansville, Ind. Mrs. Twichell attended the First Presbyterian Church of Hampton and was a member of Circle 2. Creative in all of her endeavors, the hobbies she loved included crocheting, needlepoint, painting and photography. Her photographs exhibited in the Photographic Society of America won many awards. Her artistic talents greatly enriched the lives of those around her.
Her husband, Edwin Worth Gardner Sr., died in 1934. Her late husband, Howard W. Twichell, died in 1976.
She is survived by her son, Edwin W. Gardner Jr. of Hampton; two grandchildren, Karen Gardner of New York and Susan Kiemer of Portsmouth; and a great-granddaughter, Erin Kiemer.

Audie Mae Twitty passed away Saturday, November 20 at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, Ms. Mrs. Twitty was 78 years old.
She had served on the Board of the Friends Organization for the North Mississippi Regional Center. Mrs. Twitty was a Christian, a homemaker, and a devoted mother. She was proceeded in death by a son, Loomis M. Twitty Jr., Mrs. Twitty is survived by 4 daughters: Brenda Joyce of Schaumberg, IL, Mae Taylor of Iuka, Ms, Sue Twitty Bivens, Corinth, Ms, and Anne Holder, Cairo, Ms: 5 sons: Wayne Twitty of Bellwood, IL, Charles Twitty and Royal Twitty of Iuka, Ms, Randy Twitty of Tishomingo, Ms and Jerry Lynn Twitty of Oxford Ms: 2 sisters; Euda Miller of Cairo, Ms and Mary Whitfield of Belmont, Ms. Mrs. Twitty leaves 23 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. The Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Visitation will continue at Cutshall Funeral Home until service time. Funeral service will be on Monday November 22, at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Franky Smith and Bro. Steve Corbett will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

Rita Holder Twitty, 44, of Tishomingo, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Services were Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. at Forrest Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Massey and Bro. D. W. Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Twitty was a former employee of the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka and was also a former plant manager of Irvin B. Schwabe in Paden. She was a member of Forrest Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ola Mae Holder.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Randy Twitty of Tishomingo; one son, Scott Twitty and his wife, Candace, of Camp LeJeune, N. C.; one daughter, Sarah Hammock and her husband, Kelvin, of Tishomingo; two grandchildren, Hunter Twitty and Haley Hammock; her parents, Hassell and Maxine Holder of Cairo; three brothers and their wives, Bonnie and Anne Holder and Gary and Dorothy Holder, all of Cairo and Eddie and Annette Holder of Rogersville, Ala.; one sister, Marsha Holder of Cairo; two grandmothers, Essie Mae Engle and Ola Holder, both of Cairo; a special friend, Jo Ann Young of Tishomingo; and several nieces and nephews.

BALDWYN - Elder Johnnie E. Tyes, 86, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at his home in Baldwyn. He was born Jan. 1, 1919, to the late Lacey and Arter Tyes. He was the founder and pastor of Lighthouse Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the leader of the singing group The Spiritual Travelers of Corinth and a member of The Pentecostal Harmonizers. He was employed by the East Ohio Gas Company for 24 years. He enjoyed hunting.

BOONEVILLE - Gorden M. Tyre, 61, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Jan 30, 1939, in Prentiss County to M C and Moyese Gann Tyra. He graduated from Marietta High School, and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard He was the co owner of Gold Bond Pest Control for 31 years. For many years he worked with the teenagers at the Booneville Church of Christ, where he was a deacon for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and fawn work.

He was preceded in death by lie father, M. G. Tyre, and his stepfather James E, Hunkapiller.

HAZEL TYSON
CORINTH - Hazel Lowrey Tyson, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her home. She was a retired nurse's aide for Magnolia Regional Health Center with 28 years of service. She was a member of Holly Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and working in her flower garden. She loved her family and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Dr. Randy Bostick officiating. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Tyson Jr., and Tim Tyson and wife, Sherry, all of Corinth, and Rickey Tyson of Walnut; two daughters, Gloria Greenhaw and husband, Orlando, and Connie Bivens and husband, Rusty, all of Corinth; seven grandchildren, Stephen Tyson, Honey Stivers and husband, Robert, Tonya Tyson, Dustin Bivens, Brittany Tyson, Cody Tyson and Nikki Bivens; three great-grandchildren, Christpher Tyson, Kayla Tyson and Kristin Stivers; a brother, Jack Lowrey and wife, Addie, of Corinth; two sisters, Betty Crowe of Corinth, and Carline Sparks and husband, Wilson, of Destin, Fla.; a special friend, Paula Holder; her caregivers, Superior Home Health/Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas Hilton Tyson; her father, Carl Edward Owen Lowrey; her mother, Irene Goddard Lowrey; and a daughter-in-law, Towana Waldon Tyson.
Pallbearers will be James Lowrey, Don Sparks, Harold Holder, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Jeff Bobo and Noel Tyson.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to service time today.
WILLIE B. TYSON
CORINTH - Willie B. Tyson, 80, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 12, 1924, in New Hope, Tenn., to the late Willie W. and Versie Huggins. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She was previously employed by Weaver Pants, Wurlitzer Company and ITT Telecomm, and most importantly she cared for her family and enjoyed gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hank Storey officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Lee Tyson of Corinth; two sons and their wives, James David and Rita Tyson of Pontotoc and Donas Gene and Sandra Tyson of Corinth; two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Mike Lewis and Annette and Mike Young, all of Corinth; one sister, Mary Ruth Tyson of Corinth; her grandchildren and spouses, Greg (Shea) Tyson, Rodney Tyson, Sylvia "Tootles" (Paul) Moore, Jennifer (Casey) Bingham, Lesley (Nick) Bain, Lana Lewis, Andy (Michelle) Tyson, Jessica (Bryan) Jones; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Anna Tyson, Bradley Bingham, Jay and Tyler Moore; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Voneda Bonds and Bonetha Newcomb; two brothers, Buford Huggins and Hubert Huggins.
Pallbearers will be Greg Tyson, Rodney Tyson, Ricky Newcomb, Billy Wayne Tyson, Jerry Tyson, Phil Atkins and Jackie Atkins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
