STARKVILLE Harry Gresham Mock Sr., 50, a sales executive with Lanier Worldwide Inc., died of heart failure Tuesday at a hotel in Houston, Texas.

Services are 10 a.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Fla., with burial in Cross Cemetery in Pensacola. A memorial sen/ice will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Starkville Shrine Club. Harper-Morris Funeral Home in Pensacola is in charge.

Survivors include: wife, Linda; daughter, Dana Mock of Gulf Breeze; son, Harry Gresham Mock Jr. of Gulf Breeze; mother, Teresa W. Mock of Gulf Breeze; and brother, John Mock of Pensacola.

JOHNNY RAY MOCK

Johnny Ray Mock, 57, of Iuka, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Magnolia Regional Health Ceuter after an extended illness.

Services were Friday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at Fairview Church of God with Bro. Marshall Tennison officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Mock was presently disabled but had operated heavy construction equipment in the past. He attended Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Johnson; and a brother, Willie Robert Smith.

MYRTLE MOCK

TISHOMINGO - Myrtle Mock, 91, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of South Crossroads Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she loved to work in the garden and yard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Palestine Community Church with Bro. Dwight South and Bro. Danny Young officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, James Mock of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; one daughter, Remonia Clayton of Tishomingo; four sisters, Earline Slack and Polly Alford, both of Cairo, Faye Griffin of Kentucky and Dorothy Smith of California; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Mock.

OLLIE DOYLE MOCK

Ollie Doyle Mock, 64, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a lifelong resident of Tishomingo County and a re­tired employee of Tishomingo County with 15 years of service before becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Palestine Church near Paden with the Rev. Danny Young officiating.

Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery. Salts Funeral Home of Booneville was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mock of Tishomingo; a daughter, Anita Mock Ray and her husband, Dale, of Tishomingo; a son, Randy Doyle Mock and his wife, Lisa, of Tishomingo; two sisters, Betty Gaddis of Tishomingo, and Edna Payne and her hus­band, Bill, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren; sev­eral nieces and nephews.

MRS. MARGARET BERRY MOCKBEE

Mrs. Margaret Berry Mockbee, 69, of 3908 25th Ave., Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 1985, at Madison General Hospital.

Services were Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Mediator in Meridian with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Mockbee was a retired school teacher in the Meridian Public School System.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martha Mockbee Tinsley of Selma; a son, Samuel Norman Mockbee Jr. of Canton; and four grandchildren.

CHARLES MOMENT

CORINTH - Charles Edward Moment, 54, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his home. He attended Easom High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove M. B. Church with the Rev. Henry Damons officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Corinth. Grayson Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jones Moment; his mother, Mattie B. Moment; two sons, Demetrius Moment of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kenneth Wicks of Corinth; a daughter, Charlotte Moment of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Moment, and a sister, Ruby Nell Mayes.

RIENZI - Cleastrial Moment, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at her home. She was a retired insurance agent for Grayson Funeral Home. She was a caring person, and a devoted wife and loving mother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hopewell M.B. Church with the Rev. V.L. Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Herman Moment Sr., 59, of Booneville, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at the University Medical Center in Jackson.

Services were Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at Wolf Creek M. B. Church with the Rev. L. A. Springfield officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn was in charge of arrangements.

HAROLD S. MONROE

CORINTH - Harold S. Monroe, 80, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his home. A lifelong resident of Alcorn County, he was born March 7, 1924, to the late Henry S. and Junie Smith Monroe. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served aboard the USS Antonio Devarak and the USS Cottonwoods in Capetown, South Africa, and Port Said, Egypt, among other locations. He worked for Pittman Bros. Propane Gas Co. for several years. He then worked for the Alcorn County Sheriff's Department until retiring. After retiring he continued to work as a court deputy and youth court bailiff. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at McPeters Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lillian T. Montgomery, 89, died Friday, April 27, 2001 in Mississippi Medical Center.

Services were Sunday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Wilemon officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Montgomery was the widow of the Rev. O. R. Montgomery, her husband of 46 years. She was a' retired homemaker and, along with her husband, a former self-employed merchant.

Roy Montgomery Dies Suddenly Nov. 10

Funeral services for Roy Montgomery of Hattiesburg, Miss., were conducted Thursday at 2:00 p. m. in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home with 'Rev. Trent F. Grubbs officiating. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Memorial Park with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mr. Montgomery died suddenly Tuesday, November 10. He was born in Decatur, Ala., and was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Mr. Montgomery, a factory worker, was a veteran of World War II. He was 51.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ave Whisenant Montgomery; a son, Richard Lee Montgomery of Hattiesburg; three daughters, Nancy Montgomery of Booneville, Rona and Lisa Rose Montgomery of Hattiesburg and a sister, Mrs. Lela Borris of New Orleans, La.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching Mississippi State University Bulldogs play basketball and listening to them on the radio, and spending time with her grandchildren.

BELMONT - Jimmy Jerald Moody, 60, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in Belmont. He was a native of Belmont and a retired maintenance supervisor with 40 years of service. He attended Calvary Family Worship Center.

Michelle Moody, 54, of Booneville passed away on June 23, 2018. Services were held on June 26. Burial followed in Booneville Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE - Barbara Ann Shouse Moore, 46, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born April 17, 1957, in Booneville to Howard Elvin Shouse Sr. and Ernie Bell Robinson Shouse. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Before her health failed, she was the plant manager at Producers Rice Mill in Memphis. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, music, camping and, most of all, her grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Pilcher and Bro. Hayden Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Bardie Moore, 92, of Marietta, died Tuesday, July 23, 1985, at his residence following several months of failing health.

Services will be Thursday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with J.T. Smith and Richard Gooch officiating. Burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was retired from the lumber business. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He had served as an elder for 58 years in the Marietta Church of Christ. He was a former fourth district supervisor in Prentiss County for eight years.

He is survived by three sons, Hubert Moore of Tifton, Ga., Paul Moore of Paris, Tenn., and Stanley Moore of Alapaha, Ga.; two daughters, Euella Farrar of Marietta and Emma Gay Adams of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Buck Moore of Booneville and Posey Moore of Belmont; two sisters, Elvie Harris and Miss Pernie Moore, both of Belmont; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

BEA MOORE

Bernice Glenn Moore, 87, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Winona and lived in Jackson for more than 50 years. For the last year and a half, she was a resident of Avonlea in Tupelo. She was a member of Broadmeadow Baptist Church in Jackson.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2003, at the Friendship City Cemetery in Columbus with Bro. Walt Porter officiating. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Ben Moore and wife, Lesley, of Tupelo; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bud Moore, and a son, Bill Moore.

BERTHA MOORE

WHEELER - Bertha Moore, 90, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at her home after a sudden illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

MRS. BETTIE MOORE

A Tribute of Love and Respect

Mrs. Bettie Moore departed this life 16 July 1933. She was a native Mississippian, well along in her 73rd year. Her father and mother W. A. (Bill) Humphrey and Didama Humphrye migrated to this section some ninety years ago and made Tippah and Prentiss Counties their home until the mother's death in 1883. Mr. Humphrye then moved to Texas and died in 1900.

At the age of sixteen, Mrs. Moore united with the Methodist Church at Carolina and remained a member there until 1903, when she moved her membership to Backland where she was a faithful member until God's messenger called her home.

She was twice married. Her first husband was John H. Michael To this union five children were born, four of whom survive. After the death of Mr. Michael she was married to C. M. Moore, who survives her, one daughter was born to them.

The funeral services were held at the Carolina Church with Br. James T. Gullett in charge. He was assisted by Bro. B. P. Fullilove and Bro. E. M. Sharp, both of Rienzi. At the conclusion of the services the body was carried to the cemetery at Jumpertown and laid to rest, with many beautiful flowers to mark and adorn her last resting place on earth.

She was a devoted wife, and mother and a kind and faithful friend, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her character was such that commanded love, respect and appreciation of her loved ones and those who knew her in every day walk of life. Her rare judgment, connected with a life of noble sentiments, bestowed upon her children that influence of mother love that leads to a beautiful life of usefulness and devotion to those Christian principles that dominated her career.

So may we live in such a way as to show our love and appreciation for the wonderful life that she exemplified, for the language of Edgar A. BILLY MOORE

Billy Moore, 68, of Booneville, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at the Alcorn Care Inn in Corinth after an extended illness.

Services were Thursday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ronnie Livingston and Bro. Charles Stephenson officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Moore was a former educator and businessman and a member of Marietta Church of Christ. He had coached basketball at Thrasher, Hill's Chapel and Glen Schools. He had been a basketball official for the Mississippi High School Activities Association, former director of the Mississippi Council on Aging and was instrumental in establishing the Senior Services Programs in Northeast Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Little Moore; one son, Mitch Moore of Glen; one granddaughter, Sarah Grace Moore of Glen; one sister, Annette Jackson and her husband, Paul, of Marietta; two brothers, his twin, Bobby Moore and his wife, Margaret, of Cleveland, Miss., and C.T. Moore and his wife, Dora, of Marietta; and a special sister-in-law, Peggy Wickershamn of Yellville, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Blanche Moore.

Pallbearers were Dwight Wright, Charlie Spearman, Paul Jackson, Jerry Little, Carl Guy Moore, Mike Wickersham and Mike Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Taft, Thurston, Bobby, Billy, Travis and Harold Little.

BOONEVILLE - Billy W. Moore, 49, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in Nashville, Tenn. He attended Booneville High School. He was a longtime employee of David Lipscomb University in Nashville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill M.B. Church with the Rev. Raymond Shugars officiating. Burial will be in the Dilworth Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Alice Moore; six brothers, Lewis Shields, Frankie Shields, Johnny Shields, Harry Shields, David Shields and Wayne Shields; six sisters, Valerie Fields, Genera Shields, Angelia Holmes, Rebecca Shields, Anita Ramsey and Wendy Gardner; his stepmother, Sarah Shields.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Shields, and his grandmother, Zelder Moore.

BLAKE MOORE

BELMONT - Doyle Blake Moore, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at his home in Belmont. He was a businessman in Belmont for 50 years, including 41 years as a service station owner and operator. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving four years and receiving the Bronze Star He was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church.

Services will be al 11 a.m. Saturday at Belmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Devare and the Rev. Ronnie Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Senter Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Montgomery Moore; one daughter and son in law, Ann and Jim Tucker of Corinth; two sons and daughters in-law, Doyle L. and Betsy Moore of Tupelo. and Lloyd and Pam Moore of Belmont; two grandchildren, Blakley and Zack Moore of Tupelo, three step grandchildren, Nick, Dave and Alex Norris; one sister, Belpre Ivy of Belmont; two brothers, Hardin Moore of Dennis and Otis Moore of Fulton.

CARRIE MOORE

SHEFFIELD, Ala. - Carrie Moore, 92, died at the St. Catherine Center Retirement Home in Waco, Texas. She was born Jan. 5, 1911, to the late Reason and Mammie Davis. She was a school teacher, seamstress and bookkeeper for her husband. During World War II she worked at Reynolds Aluminum Company, building airplanes. She was a member of the York Terrace Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield, Ala. She was the wife of the late R.G. "Ruia" Moore.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kirkville Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Irvin officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the local arrangements.

A memorial service was held Feb. 24, 2003, at McGregor Methodist Church in McGregor, Texas.

IUKA - Cecil Alvin Moore, 80, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004. He was a Christian.

SALTILLO - Dorothy Pearl Moore, 67, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth. She was a former employee of Columbian Rope in Guntown and a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo.

BELMONT - Dorothy "Dot" Orick Moore, 74, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at her home after a sudden illness. She was born March 2, 1931, in Dennis to the late William Oscar and Altie Orick. She married Houston Moore on Nov. 1, 1947. She was a mother and a homemaker, and she attended Second Street Church of Christ.

JUMPERTOWN - Edith Short Moore, 77, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at the Baptist Desoto County Hospital in Southaven after a brief illness. She was a retired seamstress for Schweiger and a member of the Cordova Baptist Church.

BOONEVILLE – Evelyn Brumley Moore, 80, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center after a long illness. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was the widow of Bilbo Moore.

EUNICE JOHNSEY MOORE

Eunice Johnsey Moore, 74, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001.

Services were Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. ; Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth, with burial in Rienzi Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Rienzi. She was a longtime resident of Hattiesburg. She once made her residence in Booneville where she began her career with Bell Telephone Systems. She was a employee of Bell Telephone Systems for 33 yearn before retiring in 1974. She served in numerous supervisory positions in North Mississippi, as assistor chief operator in Columbus and as chief operator u West Point before relocating to Hattiesburg, when she was a service administrator until her retirement She was a longtime member of the Kensington Woods Church of Christ in Hattiesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin (Bill) and Lillian Crow Johnsey, one brother Bobby Burt Johnsey and one sister, Una Mae Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Billy P. Moore o Hattiesburg; one stepdaughter, D. BOONEVILLE - Francis L. "Fannie" Moore, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Moore; and one son, Jimmy Moore.

IUKA - Golda Tucker Moore, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Carrington House in Iuka. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Iuka. She was employed at V.J. Elmore's Store for 30 years and later worked at Piggly Wiggly in Iuka. She enjoyed visiting friends, traveling and going out to eat.

HARDIN MOORE

MOORE'S MILL - Hardin Moore, 80, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept 18, 1921, in Prentiss County to Clee Moore and Sally George Moore. He served with the 720th Military Police Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II. He was a farmer. He was a member of Old Bethel Methodist Church and the Prentiss County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He considered him self blessed to have been born, lived and died at the Moore's Mill community.

BOONEVILLE - Helen Bostick Moore, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. Ga. She was a native of Tishomingo County. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville. She was the widow of Buck Moore.

BELMONT - Houston Moore, 74, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Belmont, he was an automobile dealer for more than 50 years. He was a member of Second Street Church of Christ and a Master Mason. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was the son of the late Pozy and Isa Moore.

CORINTH - Imogene Moore, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at the Alcorn Health and Rehab Facility. She was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and managed Gamel Moore Insurance Agency for 37 years. Before that she was a longtime employee of the Alcorn County tax assessor's office. She was an avid bowler for almost two decades and sponsored many leagues.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McPeters Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Culp officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Gamel Moore of Corinth; a daughter, Gwen Moore Tittle of Greenville, S.C.; a granddaughter, Gay Tittle of Corinth; a great-grandson, Grant Maldonado of Corinth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Sallie Simpson Ragen.

NEW SITE - Inez Moore, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. She was employed at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville as department head over materials management. She was a member of the East Prentiss Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with Bro. Mike Johnson, Bro. Kenneth Bishop and Bro. Steve Holliday officiating. Burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.

JAMES H. MOORE

CORINTH - James Holley Moore, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at his residence. He was a 1943 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and Trustee. He served in the Army 4th Division during World War II where he was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Purple Heart recipient. In 1949 he started an accounting firm with his brother-in-law, Lucian Minor, known as Minor and Moore. Later the firm became known as Moore and Gray CPA, now a component of the Nail-McKinney CPA firm. He later served as Trust Officer for Security Bank until 1987. He was very active in numerous civic organizations in the community for many years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth with Dr. Don Elliott and Father Tim Jones officiating. Eulogy will be by Annie Mae Amos. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

DOUGLAS, Ga. - J.D. Moore, 58, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga., after a long illness. A native of Prentiss County, he was born Sept. 16, 1944, to Roscoe Leslie Moore and the late Rosie Lou Bertha Flanagan Moore. He was an auto mechanic and the husband of the late Mary Jeanette Moore.

RIENZI - Jerry Wesley Moore, 58, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his home after a long illness. He was a farmer and the owner of Triple M Transport. He was a member of Rienzi Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Rienzi Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Danville Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cathy Johnsey Moore; a daughter, Lori Leigh Moore of Rienzi; a son, Brandon Wesley Moore of Rienzi; a sister, Carolyn Bishop and husband, Milton, of Rienzi; a brother, Jimmy Wayne Moore and wife, Maylene, of Rienzi; a sister-in-law, Sue Hively and husband, Bill, of Corinth; two grandsons, Taylor Wesley Moore and Kirkland Allen Moore; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. James Henry and Wesley Pauline Moore; a daughter, Dana Moore; a brother, Paul Moore; a niece, Vicki Ann Bishop; and a nephew, Jimmy Wayne Moore Jr.

MEMPHIS – Jimmy M. Moore, 57, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Delta Medical Center in Memphis after a long illness. He was a 1968 graduate of Wheeler High School. He was a paramedic for several years before his health declined. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, motorcycles and horses.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Short officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

JIMMY R. MOORE

PONTOTOC - Jimmy R. Moore, 65, formerly of Forest, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at his home in Pontotoc after a long illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Smith County to Jessie Auray and Wilma Harmon Moore. He retired from Sears Roebuck after 33 years as a service technician. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pontotoc and the Kiwanis of Forrest and the Mississippi National Guard for many years. He raised cattle when he lived in Forest. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Mark McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Pontotoc.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Turnage Johnson Moore of Pontotoc, whom he married June 30, 1984; three sons, Lt. Andrew Moore and wife, DeAnna, of Atoka, Tenn., Patrick Moore and wife, Tammy, of Morton, and Steve Johnson of Pontotoc; his grandchildren, Nicholas Moore of Atoka, Tenn., Mallory and Drew Moore of Morton, Misty Ashley and LaTisha Pittman, both of Memphis, and LaTasha Stark of Corinth; six great-grandchildren; an uncle, James Darwin "Sonny Boy" Harmon of Sumrall.

TISHOMINGO - John E. Moore, 67, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. He was retired from law enforcement, working many years in Tishomingo and Prentiss counties. He enjoyed fishing and cooking for benefits.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Bro. John McAlister, Bro. Dwight South and Bro. William Burcham officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.

VERONA - Junior Ruel Moore, 81, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at the Beverly Health Care Center after a long illness. He was born Oct. 21, 1920, to the late Hunter and Alma Putt Moore.

He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Northeast Church of Christ and a 32nd Degree Shriner. He enjoyed the outdoors.

NEW ALBANY - William Estel Stanton, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born July 5, 1926, in Union County to the late William LeRoy Stanton and Viola Bullock Stanton.

He was the retired manager of the Gibson Discount Center and a member of New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband and father.

Services were held Saturday, September 14, 2002, at United Funeral Service Chapel with Bra Robert Shettles and Bro. Steve Weaver officiating. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

IUKA - Lavada Moore, 85, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

CORINTH - Lela D. Moore, 66, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born April 13, 1938.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Moore; a brother, W.K. Curlee; two sisters, Leaster Knight and Catherine Kimmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Cullen Curlee; five brothers, Jessie B. Curlee, R.C. Curlee, Leroy Curlee, Shelby Curlee and John W. Curlee; and two sisters, Laurine Stafford and Geraldine Alexander.

IUKA - Lela Daniel Moore, 95, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at her home. She was a member of Snowdown United Methodist Church for many years. She was a homemaker who took wonderful care of her family.

Services were Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with the Rev. Dwain Whitehurst officiating. Burial was in Snowdown Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Moore of Pensacola, Fla., and Bill Moore of Iuka; two daughters, Ella Jean Moore and Lola South, both of Iuka; two sisters, Ruby Maxwell and Ilene Holloway, both of Iuka; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Moore, and a son, Bobby Moore.

LUTHER MOORE

Luther Carl Moore, 77, of Booneville, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a sudden illness.

Services were Saturday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. in the state room of McMillan Funeral Home with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial was in Gaston Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was past owner and operator of Moore's Men's Store in Booneville and a member of First Baptist Church of Booneville. He was a past member of the Lions Club. He loved traveling.

He is survived by one daughter, Betty Joanne Goble of Memphis; three sons, Lewis Moore of Lexington, Ky., Randy Moore of Demopolis, Ala., and Terry Moore of Booneville; one sister, Era Stell of Booneville; five grandchildren, Jana Crotty, Mandy Crotty, Jennifer Moore, Elizabeth Moore and Lisa Osbirn; one great-granddaughter, Hope.

MINNIE MOORE

RIENZI - Minnie Irene Burcham Moore, 91, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at her daughter's home in Rienzi after a long illness. She was born Nov. 20, 1911, in Alcorn County. She was a homemaker and an active member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church for 64 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and raising beautiful gladiolus.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home with Elder Cecil Woodruff and the Rev. Clan Burcham officiating. Betty Burcham Hickman will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Moore and wife, Jean, of Columbus; two daughters, Edith Hughes Johnson and husband, Quitman, of Rienzi, and Erra Moore Mills and husband, Don, of Keller, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Moore of Rienzi; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Ernest Moore; a son, Ernest Cleston Moore; a grandson, Hoyle Wayne Hughes; a great-grandchild, Porsche Faith Hughes; and her parents, William Joseph and Josie Whittemore Burcham.

OLEN E. MOORE

Olen E. Moore, 89, of Belmont, died Friday, May 16, 1997 at Care Center of Red Bay. He was a native of Mississippi, a farmer for 65 years and a member of the Red Bay Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Services were held Monday, May 18, 1997 at 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont. Bro. Jack Maroon and Bro. Larry Hill officiated. Burial was it Moore Cemetery with arrangements by Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont.

Survivors include three daughters, Flo Henry of Belmont; Fern Jackson, of Moores Mill and Joyce Holland of Memphis; one son, William S. (Billy) Moore of Red Bay, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Credille of Belmont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Moore and a daughter, Kathryn Martin.

Pallbearers were Stephen Moore, John Holland, Mark Merrill, Ralph Lee, Mark Henry and Kerry Thrasher.

CAPTAIN R. J. MOORE

The people of Wheeler were shocked on hearing of the death of Capt. R. J. Moore, which sad event occurred while he and Mrs. Moore were on a visit to relatives in Tishomingo county. He died very suddenly with paralysis at the home of Mrs. Bell Furguson. He had been afflicted for several years with ashma and other troubles, but just a few hours before stricken he expressed himself as feeling better than usual. He was taken at the supper table and only lasted about twelve hours, talking but little.

Capt. Moore was born in Itawamba county, Miss., near Fulton, March 16, 1837. His parents moved from Itawamba county to Tishomingo county in 1844, and resided there until the breaking out of the Civil War, at which time he enlisted in the 26th Miss. Reg. in the Confederate Army in 1861 ;went directly to the front and was in the engagements of his command.

Capt. Moore was elected 2nd Lieutenant of his company at its organization, and in 1863 was promoted to the rank of Captain and filled this position ably and well until peace was declared.

He was the Battle of Ft. Donaldson, Baker's Creek, Siege of Petersburg and was wounded and captured at the last named engagement. He was taken to Johnson's Island prison, detained there about three months, and was captured again at Ft. Donaldson He was placed in the same prison and remained six months, being there at the final surrender. He was paroled in June, 1865, and then returned to his home in Tishomingo county where he engaged in farming.

He married in 1864 to Miss Nannie Gains, which happy union lasted nearly half a century.

Capt. Moore was elected county surveyor in 1888, which position he filled with honor, He made farming and milling his chief occupation during life and was quite successful in his chosen calling.

He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and the Knights of Honor organization. He was a member of the Christian Church having obeyed the Gospel when young and lived true to the cause until he was called to his reward.

As a neighbor there was none better. He was public spcbrited and enterprising and extended a liberal hand to all laudable public enterprises.

He moved from the eastern part of the county to Wheeler about two years ago, where he lived happily the remainder of his life. He won many friends here, who will greatly miss him.

To Aunt Nannie, the grief stricken wife, and relatives we would say: "Weep not as those who have no hope." By and By there will be a glorious reunion on the other shore where parting will be no more.

BOONEVILLE   Ruby Lee Wright Moore, 83, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at her home in Booneville after a three year illness. She was born Dec. 20, 1916. In Prentiss County to James P “Jim" Wright and Lillie Cleo Davis Wright. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Booneville, where she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and was very active in all activities of the church. She was a machine operator at Blue Bell Industries, was a social worker for the Mississippi Department of Welfare in the 1970s, end (lien worked until her retirement at age 80 caring for many different elderly people of Prentiss County. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She touched many lives by helping other people and asking no recognition for doing so.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Tidwell, Bro. Dexter Wilemon and Bro B. P. Thornton officiating, burial will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, J. H. Moore of Alapaha, Ga., and Hilton L. Moore and his wife, Linda, of Iuka; a daughter, Judy Essay, and her husband, James, of Enville, Tenn.; three brothers, J P. Scotty Dewayne, two month old son of Darrell and Pamela Moore of Route 5, Booneville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1985.

Shirley Faye Moore, 74, of Baldwyn passed away on June 25, 2018. Services were held on June 27. Burial followed in the Campbelltown Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Moore of Baldwyn; her children, Eugene Moore (Teresia) and Billy Moore (Janie) of Baldwyn, Shelia Starling; two sisters; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. DENNIS - Shunda Allred Moore, 27, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at the Red Bay Hospital. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mercedes Paige Allred; and her grandmother, Onesta Walton.

KOSSUTH - Virginia Lancaster Moore, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the Alcorn Rehab and Health Care. She was born in Alcorn County June 17, 1918, to the late Ed and Effie Lancaster. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kossuth Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Kossuth Community Club and the Historical Club.

WILLIE T. MOORE

WHEELER - Willie T. Moore, 69, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. He was born April 8, 1927, in New Site to Carl and Irene Moore. He was a member of the Siloam Methodist Church. He was a 1947 graduate of New Site High School. He was a graduate of Draughns Business College in Jackson. He was a former Scoutmaster of Wheeler Boy Scout Troop 35. He was postmaster of the New Site Post Office from 1953 to 1955. He was one of the charter members of the Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department and first president of the Wheeler Frankstown Water Association. He was a former Community Board member of the Bank of Mississippi. He was a retired contractor and business owner. He ran East Side Hardware and Lumber Co. from 1968 to 1980.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville with Bro. Robert McCoy and Bro. Rick Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens at Frankstown.

IUKA - Mary H. Moorehead, 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services will be at noon Friday at Eastport Baptist Church with Bro. Junior Jones and Bro. G.D. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ludlam Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sisters, Judy Goodman of California and Josephine M. Midkeff of Iuka; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Moorehead, and her parents, Holly Midkiff and Laura Cook.

ARCHIE VERNON MORELAND

Archie Vernon Moreland, 84, of Route 4, Booneville, died Monday, Sept. 16, 1985, at the Tupelo Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Mr. Moreland was a retired carpenter and a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lorene Huddleston Moreland; and a sister, Mrs. Alma Yates of Wheeler.

KENNETH MOORELAND

BOONEVILLE   Kenneth Ray Mooreland 71, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, from the results of an automobile accident on Highway 45 near Booneville. He was born May 26, 1929, in Tishomingo County to Roy Lee Mooreland and Myrtle Catherine Todd Mooreland. He was a truck driver, He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 108 in Baldwyn and the Corinth Body of Scottish Rite. He enjoyed whittling.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Fairview Baptist Church in Booneville with Bro. Pete McCoy and Dr. Leonard Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Agnes Vaughn Caviness Moreland, to whom he was married April 30, 1948, three sons, Hayden Moreland and his wife, Beverly, of Booneville, Wayne Moreland of Booneville and Michael Lewis and his wife, Carol, of Tupelo; one daughter, Cathy Miller and her husband, Mark, of Booneville; nine grandchildren, Jeff Moreland of Corinth, Anthony Moreland and his wife, Gypsy, of Guntown, Christopher Moreland and his wife, Heather of Blue Springs, Christy McVey, Bethany Moreland, Roy Lee Moreland, Ashley Miller, Jordan Miller and Bryson Miller, all of Booneville; four great grandchildren.

LUCILLE MOORMAN

Lucille Jones Moorman, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at her daughter's home in Pascagoula, following a long illness.

Services were Saturday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kennth Orick officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Mrs. Moorman was born March 2, 1916, in Prentiss County, the daughter of George Riley Jones and Lavonia Nicholson Jones. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God. She enjoyed growing flowers, cooking and writing poetry.

She is survived by 10 children, Billy Moorman and his wife, Virginia, of Booneville, Vard Moorman Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Moss Point, George Terrell "Hop" Moorman and his wife, Doris, of Pascagoula, Max Moorman of Booneville, Jerry "Jody" Moorman and his wife, Melvy, of Booneville, Jimmy Moorman of Pascagoula, Clovis Moorman and his wife, Patricia, of Helena, Miss., Ralph Dollan Moorman and his wife, Susan, Tannah Bolen and Dottie Temple and her husband, Dale, all of Pascagoula; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce George. Pallbearers were Mrs. Moorman's sons. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.

BOONEVILLE – Jerry O. “Jody” Moorman, 67, died Friday, November 5, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. -He was born December 13, 1942 in Prentiss County to Vardaman and Lucy Jones Moorman. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a retired grocery manager, having worked for Jitney Jungle, Foodway, Food Giant and Walden’s Supermarket. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, treasure hunting, walking his dog and playing with his grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Melvin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 2, 1973, in Itawamba County to John Terell Moorman and Mary Ellen Cole Moorman. He was a retired employee of the Street Department of the City of Pascagoula. He was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God. He enjoyed gardening.

BOONEVILLE - James Vester Moreland, 87, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the Longwood Community Living Center. He was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County. He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Mason.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro, Dexter Wilemon officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Ann Moreland of Booneville and Fannie Isbell of Guin, Ala.; a brother, Shelton Moreland of New Site; nieces and nephews.

He was receded in death by a sister, Ora Fugitt; four brothers, Sidney, Ellis, Lealon and Harmon Moreland; and his parents, Henry Frank and Ollie Wilemon Moreland.

Mrs. Kylie Moreland, 82, of Route 5, Booneville, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1987, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended Illness.

Mrs. Moreland was the widow of Levis Moreland. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.

MRS. OSCAR MORELAND

Mrs. Lota Taylor Moreland was born 13 November 1904 and died 13 February 1932. She was buried 14 February 1932 at Marietta after funeral services conducted by Bro. J. O. Gonthorpe of Rienzi.

She was married to Oscar Moreland in 1925 to which she made a happy, contented loving wife , and Mother and leaves a little girl, Helen, 5 years old.

Lota leaves to mourn her passing besides husband and child, her Mother Mrs. Jack Taylor of Marietta; one sister, Mrs. Bud Woodard and brothers Reefus, Joe, Willard and M. B. Taylor of Marietta and John Taylor of Meadow Creek Community, Marion and J. H. of Arkansas and R. C. of Detroit, Michigan, and Mr. & Mrs. Moreland who loved her as their own dear child and her grandmother Mrs. Andy Shook of Marrietta.

BOONEVILLE - Mary “Granny Rea” Moreland, died Wednesday, February 21, 1996, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was retired as Proctor of Yarbrough Hall at Northeast Mississippi Community College with over 10 years of service. She was a retired homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Salts Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Haskell Sparks officiating, assisted by Minister Rickey Griffin. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Green and her husband, Roy, and Kathryn Chaffin, all of Marietta; two sons, J. D. Moreland of New Site and James Harold Moreland of Southaven; one sister, Ruth Grimes of Fulton; two brothers, Melmus Turbaville of Dennis and Fred Turbaville of Bay City, Wise.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Nikki Chaffin Mayo and Tammy Marie Moreland.

MARIETTA - Oscar Moreland, 89, died Tuesday, December 3, 1991, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

WILLIAM EARL MORELAND, SR.

William Earl Moreland, Sr., 90, of Iuka died April 17, 2001 at Iuka Hospital. Mr. Moreland was a member of Chapel Hill Independent Methodist Church and a World War II Merchant Marine Veteran. He was a Scottish Rite Mason 32° K. C. C. H. and a shriner. After age 65, he began his last job as Tishomingo County Bailiff. Before that he was a truck driver for Campbell's 66 Express for 34 years, and a security guard at Yellow Creek Port Authority for 6 years. With the exception of a stint with the Desoto County Sheriff's Dept. from 1980-1983, he had served as Tishomingo County Bailiff since 1975, and had been a deputy under every sheriff since George Cutshall. At the age of 72, he graduated from the Miss. Law Enforcement Academy at Pearl. As the youngest of five children, he was born and reared on a farm

near Booneville. An avid gardener, he planted about one acre each year and shared with friends and those in need. He was truly a warm and caring gentleman, full of life and energy.

Services were Thursday, at 1 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Malcolm Garrett and Bro. Russell Clouse officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Bill (Lightning) Moreland, Jr. and his wife, Jeanette of Perryville, AR; two granddaughters, Heather and Jessica Moreland, of Perryville, Ar.

Amanda Phifer Morgan, 93, of 217 N. Bryant St., Booneville, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness.

Services were Friday, March 12, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Mitchell and Mavous Phifer officiating. Burial was in Forked Oak Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan was the widow of Austin Lucion McCoy and Shelby Morgan. She was a housewife and a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Elaine Claunch, Earlene Lentz, Shirley Walden and Margie Walden, all of Booneville: two sons, Tharon Morgan of Iuka and Larry Morgan of Booneville; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moran was the widow of W.C. Moran. She was a housewife and a member of Crossroads Methodist Church.

BALDWYN - Anna Lou Morgan, 86, died Saturday. April 22, 2000, at her residence. She was an employee of Blue Bell and was a member of Ingram Baptist Church.

CORINTH - Dorothy J. Morgan, 74, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a retired insurance agent and factory worker. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Effie Estelle Morgan Dies After Short Illness

Mrs. Effie Estelle Morgan of Rienzi, Route 1, passed away Saturday at 11 p.m. in the Corinth Hospital following a short illness. She was a member of the Jacinto Missionary Baptist Church, and a housewife. She was 65.

Funeral services were conducted, Monday afternoon at Jacinto Baptist Church with Bro. Clifford Rinehart and Bro. C. C. Rinehart officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

She leaves two sons, Lee Russell Boren and Gene A. Morgan of Rienzi; two brothers, Burley Lee Hill of Louisiana and K. E. Hill of Kenosha, Wis.; four sisters, Mrs. Minervia Harris of Jacinto, Mrs. Mary Cox of Amite, La., Mrs. Ramer Wigginton of Rienzi, and Mrs. Elsie Newborn of Elaine, Ark.

MICHIE, Tenn. - Eldon H. Morgan, 77, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at his residence. He was born Feb. 15, 1927, to John Roland and Lula Knight Morgan in Acton, Tenn. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and a World War II veteran where he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal and the Victory Medal. He was in the 349th Infantry Regiment.

He was a retired plumbing and electrical contractor. He was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Tishomingo. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling. He loved his dog.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William H. "Bill" Burcham and Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Garden.

Mr. Morgan was a member of Bellvue Baptist Church in Bella Vista, Ark. He was employed with S&J Steel Builders until becoming disabled. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Cantrell Gregg.

Services For Guy Morgan Held Monday

Guy Morgan of Booneville died suddenly in the Northeast Mississippi Hospital. He was a native of Prentiss County and was 60 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mr. Morgan leaves his wife, Mrs. Gladys Miller Morgan; his mother, Mrs. Emma Morgan; a brother, Jay S. Morgan of Baldwyn; six sisters, Mrs. Coy Malone, Mrs. Orville Little and Mrs. Jack Holley of Baldwyn, Mrs. Coy Wallis of Ripley, Mrs. Minter Riddle of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. Curtis Morgan.

JAMES CURTIS MORGAN

PLANTERSVILLE - James Curtis "Big Daddy" Morgan, 78, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at his home east of Plantersville after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was born Feb. 22, 1926, to the late Hilliard and Anna Stovall Morgan. He was a graduate of Plantersville High School and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and landowner. He worked many years at Cockrell Banana Company in Tupelo and retired as the circulation manager for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. He was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason affiliated with the Richmond-Evergreen Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Chapel of Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona with the Rev. James Richardson and the Rev. Aubrey Boren officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery at Plantersville with Masonic graveside services.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Davis Morgan of Plantersville, whom he married March 29, 1946; three children, James Davis Morgan and wife, Judy, of Quitman, Michael Britt Morgan and wife, Brenda, of Iuka, and Ginger Morgan Logan and husband, George, of Nettleton; five grandchildren, Chris Morgan and wife, Paula, Tonya Kirk and husband, David, Keith Morgan and wife, Marsha, Jamey Logan and Anna Marie Logan; three great-grandchildren, Anna Kirk, Lake Morgan and Jackson Morgan; a sister, Bernice M. Ruff of Plantersville; two sisters-in-law, Kitty Morgan of Plantersville and Connie Morgan of Verona.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Hugh Morgan.

James H. Morgan, 71, of Nesbit, Miss., died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at DeSoto County Baptist Hospital. He was a construction worker and a native of Prentiss County.

Services were Monday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at Hernando Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Forrest Hill South Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Morgan of Nesbit; two daughters, Sherry Williams of Nesbit and Nancy Degan of Memphis; one sister, Clara Morgan Eaton of Booneville; two brothers, Gordon Morgan of Corinth and Billy Morgan of Booneville; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow Morgan; one sister, Nona Lindsey; his parents, Sam Morgan and Mrs. Minnie Morgan Mooney; three half-brothers, Elmer Morgan, Raymond Morgan and Shelby Morgan; and three half-sisters, Florence Hisaw, Bessie Huddleston and Chessie Prentiss.

Pallbearers were Steve Morgan, David Camp, Jamie Williams, Tracey Scott, Joshua Degan and Steve Camp.

HARDY, Ark. - Jewel M. Morgan, 83, died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, in Little Rock, Ark. She was a former central supply technician at Booneville Baptist Hospital. She was a member of the Cherokee Village Baptist Church and the widow of Chester C. Morgan.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Higginbotham Funeral Service Chapel in Hardy, Ark., with the Rev. Bob Fielding officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the McMillan Funeral Home with services immediately following with the Rev. Edward Stacy officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, James Morgan and his wife, Velda, of Ash Flat, Ark.; six sisters, Gladys Sumners of Booneville, Geraldine Garrett of Lexington, S. C., Freda Burleson of Humansville, Mo., Katie Lee Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, Fannie Mae Meadows and Cleo Miller, both of Baldwyn; three grandchildren, Tammy, Robert Seth and Terri Lynn; two great-grandchildren, Tyier Jo Blanchard and Leah Page Morgan.

Kenneth Wayne Morgan, 58, of Route 3, Booneville, died Friday, Jan. 6, 1989, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 7, at 3:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with bro. W. G. Dowdy and Dr. Danny Rowland officiating.

Burial was in Concord Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan was a disabled farmer and a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Rowland Morgan; a brother, Vernon Morgan of West Memphis, Ark.; and two sisters, Shirley Hendrix of Pascagoula and Inez Bullock of Booneville.

ROBERT VON MORGAN SR.

Services for Robert Von "Bob" Morgan Sr. were Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Castor Buse officiating.

Morgan, 72, died July 2, 2002, at his home after a long illness.

He was born Aug 4, 1929, in Oktibbeha County to the late Willie Von and Willie Velma Morgan. He served in the U. S. Marines for 8 ½ years and earned an associates degree in engineering. He was a member and deacon of the Skyline Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church family.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dot Morgan of Auburn; three sons, Robert "Bobby" Morgan Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Verona, William "Bucky" Morgan of Vernon, Ala., and Danny Morgan of Auburn; a daughter, Linda Vice and her husband, Elbert, of Vernon, Ala.; two sisters, Carolyn Moss of Columbus and Iris South of Memphis; a brother, Roger Morgan of Mooreville; 13 grandchildren: 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; his parents and a sister, Ann Tambasco.

            Pallbearers were Delbert Vice, Elbert Vice, Jeremy Morgan, William "Bubba" Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Von Morgan, Byron Morgan and Josh Morgan.

Burial was in Liberty Memorial Gardens in Prentiss County.

Roger Lee Morgan, 46, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at his home near Booneville.

Services were Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at Carter's Chapel Church of Christ with Minister Granville Morgan and Minister Jim Foster officiating. Burial was in Carter's Chapel Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan was born Feb. 26, 1955, in Booneville. He had been a heavy equipment mechanic, a sawmiller, a security officer and a truck driver before becoming disabled in the year 2000. He attended Carter's Chapel Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Carpenter Morgan; two children, Dana Maria Morgan of Corinth and Heather Leann Morgan of Booneville; four stepchildren, David Cartwright, Felicia Cartwright, Jerry Kincaid and Amber Kincaid, all of Booneville; two brothers, Stanley Morgan and his wife, Kathy, and Barry Morgan, and his wife, Tracy, all of Booneville; two sisters, Glenda Morgan of Booneville and Anita Derreck and her husband, Charles, of Memphis; two grandchildren, Anita Dykes and Nathan Scott; and his stepmother, Mildred Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee Morgan and Sylvia Marie Chase Morgan.

Rose Lou Carpenter Morgan, 89 of Covington , Tenn., diet Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at 4aptist Tiptoe Hospital in Covington Teen., after a sudden illness.

Services were Sunday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald McGaughy officiating. Burial was in Hilltop Church of God cemetery near Jacinto.

Mrs. Morgan was formerly of Memphis and Prentiss County. She was a retired nursing assistant with Methodist Hospital in Memphis and the widow of Millard Lester Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Viola McAnally Carpenter and one daughter, Vickie Morgan Courtney.

She is survived by two daughters, Mamie Carl of Ruidoso Downs, N. M., and Kathryn Holt of Rosemark, Tenn., two sons, the Rev. Granvil M. Morgan of Covington Tenn., and Jerry W. BOONEVILLE - William Darrell "Bill" Morgan, 38, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. He was born Aug. 7, 1966, in Booneville. He was a Christian. He worked as a n upholsterer in the furniture manufacturing industry. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Barron and Bro. Dewayne Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Dry Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include his mother, Emma Lee Morgan of Dry Creek; two brothers, Harold Morgan and his wife, Freida, and Dewayne Morgan and his wife, Judy, all of Dry Creek; two sisters, Diane Morgan and her husband, Milton, of Jacinto, and Fredia Lewis and her special friend, Chuck Austin, of Booneville; nine nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Harold Morgan; and a brother, Keith Morgan.

WILLARD MORGAN

TISHOMINGO - Willard Tucker Morgan, 82, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Blockton, Ala., to Jesse Monroe Morgan and Neela Suggs Morgan. He moved at the age of 2 with his family to Mississippi where he lived until going to Richton to the C. C. Camp. After being discharged from CCC, he moved to Tishomingo. He married Christine Deaton on June 28, 1942, in Tishomingo. He joined the U. S. Air Force in November 1942. He was in the 456th Bomb Group, flying in a B-24 as an aerial engineer and gunner. He was stationed in Italy and flew 50 bombing missions over Normandy, Germany, France, Air Combat Balkans and Romanian oil fields. He returned to the U. S. and was stationed as an instructor at Keesler Field in Biloxi. He was honorably discharged in September 1945. He finished high school at Tishomingo, attended Mississippi State University for two years, then graduated from Louisiana State University as a forester. He worked with the Mississippi State Forestry Commission for a few years in south Mississippi, then at Richton Tie & Timber Company in Richton. In 1956 he started working for TVA. He retired from TVA as a forester in 1984 and lived in Florence, Ala., until moving to Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka in January 2003. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he lived and died a hero to his family and country.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Dr. Gary Glazier and Mike Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 61 1/2 years, Christine; two sons, Sam Morgan and wife, Linda, of Tupelo and Danny Morgan and wife, Janet, of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, Woodrow "Bunk" Morgan; a sister, Irene "Babe" Cornelius; two grandsons, Samuel Monroe Morgan II of Asheville, N. C., and Cooper Deaton Morgan of Oxford; a granddaughter, Anna Kathryn Morgan of Madison, Wis.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; and eight brothers and sisters.

Alvie L. Morris, 83 of Iuka died Monday, January 24, 2000 at the Collierville Baptist Hospital, Collierville TN.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ.  Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his wife Mary Winifred Morris

Mr. Morris is survived by a daughter Betty Borden of Collierville, TN; a son Lonnie Morris of Counce, TN ; a sister Vada Bugg of Iuka, MS; three grandchildren Thomas Borden, Sharon Borden, Bobby Forsythe, Jr. and 2 great grandchildren Courtney Borden and Joshua Savachik.

Barry Gene Morris, 38 of Burnsville, MS died Nov. 27, 2001 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth after a sudden illness. He was a driver for Lewis Bros. Bakeries in Corinth and a long-time employee of B & J Supermarket in Burnsville. He enjoyed playing baseball.

IUKA - Matilda LueEdna "Lue" Morris, 93, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at the Iuka Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1909, at Old Hepsebia (now known as North Crossroads) to Phine and Lillie Johnson Price. She attended school at Old Hepsebia, Fairview and Poplar Springs. She was a Christian, a homemaker and a farmer. She was a resident of Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home for the past 21 months. She married Millard Andrew Morris on Sept. 19, 1926; he preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairview Community Church with Bro. Malcolm Garrett and Bro. Donald Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, James Morris and wife, Virginia, and Bobby Morris and wife, Charlotte, all of Iuka; a daughter, Ruby Bowling of Memphis; a daughter-in-law, Jennie Ray Morris of Iuka; five sisters, Allie Bee Honeycutt of Guys, Tenn., Ruthie "Snooks" Kemp of Maggie Valley, N.C., Euna Mae Whitfield and Shirley Bullard, both of Iuka, and Eler McMasters of Corinth; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

IUKA - Raymond T. Morris, 66, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at his residence. He was employed for 26 years at the Dana Corporation and had currently been employed at Monotech in Iuka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Morris of Iuka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fonnie and Magdaline Morris; and two brothers, James Morris and Bobby Morris.

ROY MORRIS

BOONEVILLE - Roy Lee Morris, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born May 20, 1926, to the late Elmer and Hattie Mae Johnson Morris. He was a retired employee of the Mississippi Department of - Transportation. He was president of the Booneville Housing Authority Board and a member of the Prentiss County Electric Power Association Board. He was an active member of the Booneville Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in China, Burma and India Campaign. He enjoyed raising and training bird dogs.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with - Minister Doug Greenway and Minister J.A. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

William Edgar Morris, 83, of Grenada, died Friday, May l, 1998, at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.

Services were Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. Garner-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.

Mr. Morris, a former resident of Booneville was a retired policeman and Electrolux representative. He was a deacon and member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Vella Whitehurst Morris of Grenada: a son, James Morris of Brandon; six daughters, Dean McHann of Jackson, Willie Mae Rice of Kosciusko, Nellie Caldwell of Vicksburg, Judy Lundy of Grenada, Jody Duncan of Nesbit and Deb Speir of Charleston: a brother, Roy Morris of Booneville; two sisters, Lona Boren of Tupelo and Betty Downs of Booneville, 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

DR. EDMUND MORRISON

Dr. Edmund Morrison, 86, of Tyler, Texas, died Monday, May 26, 1997.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Dr. Morrison was born in Oregon where his father was a medical missionary to the Indians. After the death of his father shortly after Ed's birth, the family relocated to Florida where he lived until the age of five. His mother passed away while in Florida, and he and his brothers lived in a boys' home in Birmingham, Ala., where he finished high school. He graduated from Birmingham Southern University and received a Master's degree from the University of Alabama. He taught school in Selma, Ala., and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in World War 11. After his discharge from the Navy, he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the College of Optometry in Madison, Wis. He practiced optometry in Opelousas and Ville Platte, La., for 30 years.

After retirement in 1989, he lived at the Tysen House in Tyler, Texas. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and active in the church and church choir in Ville Platte. He was also a member of the fraternal order of the Masons.

He was preceded in death in 1989 by his wife, Jimmie Whitley Morrison, and one brother, Dr. Karl Morrison of Oxford, Miss.

He is survived by one brother, D.D. Morrison of Sheffield, Ala.; and three nieces and one nephew, along with several great nieces and nephews. Dr. Morrison was the brother-in-law of the late Mrs. John M. Curlee of Booneville. Among the survivors are Mrs. Mary Curlee Beal of Tyler, Texas and John M. Curlee Jr. of Aberdeen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mission Programs of the churches of their choice or the American Cancer Society.

LENA MORRISON

CORINTH - Lena Bell Morrison, 90, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Huntsville, Ala.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony Collier officiating. Patterson Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

She is survived by a son, Edgar Morrison; two daughters, Shannon Morrison and Anna Morrison; a niece, Annette Lawson; nephews, Will Henry Willis and Clinton Willis; and a number of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Morrison.

CORINTH - Mary Morrison, 67, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rest M.B. Church with the Rev. O.J. Saulter officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rest Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Felix Morrison and Johnny Davis; one brother, Freddie Morrison; two daughters-in-law, Camae Morrison and Shelia Pitney; three grandchildren, Felix Morrison Jr., Felicity Morrison and Montana Davis.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Ann Carpenter.

JUDY MORRISSON

Judith Ann Martin Morrisson, 49, died Friday, Oct. 13, 1995, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville as the result of an auto accident.

Services were Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.L. Gore officiating.

She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Booneville. She was a certified legal secretary and was the office manager and personal secretary of Dr. Thomas McLees at the Magnolia Regional Health Center Lab in Corinth.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim Prado and her husband, Roberto, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jamie Morrisson of Oxford; two brothers, L.C. Martin of El Reno, Okla., and Ronnie Martin of Rienzi; two sisters, Janice Patten of Booneville and Frankie Guthrie of Freeport, Texas; and one granddaughter, Sophia Prado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Lee and Alma George Martin, and one brother, Herbert Martin.

Pallbearers were Tim Martin, Tony Martin, Michael Martin, Tony Frasier, Jere Ethridge and Jonathon Morrisson.

BOBBY MORROW

JUMPERTOWN - Bobby Ray Morrow, 57, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth after a brief illness. He was a furniture builder.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Jumpertown Cemetery with Bro. Tim Dixon officiating. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a brother, Steve Morrow and wife, Janet, of Jumpertown; two nephews, Michael Morrow and wife, Brenda, and Eddie Ray Morrow and wife, Michelle, all of Jumpertown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Clytee Morrow.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.

MRS. EUGENE MORROW

Mrs. Eugene Morrow of the Bethany community died the might of June 5 at the Baldwyn Clinic, after a lingering illness. She was forty one years of age, and had lived all .her life in the community. She leaves .her husband, Eugene Morrow, one son, Frank, and two daughters, Joanne and Janie Sue,

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Mt. Olive Church of which she. was a member, by Dr. Robert Palmer, pastor of the Baldwyn Baptist Church, Assisting in the rites were G. B Basden, pastor of the Wheeler Baptist 'Church., and J. B, Laney, County Missionary of Frankstown.

Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery with Nick Waters in charge.

FRANCES MORROW

BALDWYN - Frances L. McCarthy Morrow, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at the Tupelo Nursing and Rehab Facility after a long illness. She graduated from the Guntown School System and attended Goodman College. She was a former employee of Blue Bell and Lucky Star Industries. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Marks officiating. Burial will be in the Euclatubba Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald Parker and wife, Gloria, and Robert Parker and wife, Linda, all of Saltillo; a sister, Annie Laurie Jordan of Jackson; two brothers, Taylor McCarthy of Guntown and John McCarthy of Memphis; three grandchildren, Paula Russell and husband, Marc, Deanna Parker and Donnie, and Andy Parker and wife, Dawn; four great-grandchildren, Blake Russell, Caleb Parker, Shelby Parker and Cody Roper.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Miles D. Parker, in 1946; her second husband, William Eugene Morrow, in 1994; an infant son in 1946; and a sister, Hazel Roberts.

Guy Morrow, 82, of Jumpertown, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth after an extended illness.

Services were Sunday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. A. L. Marshall Jr. officiating. Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.

Mr. Morrow was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morrow: three sisters, Ermic Faye Geno. Mastic Glyn Wren and Wilma Beasley: and four brothers, Manuel, Joshua, Noah and Milton Morrow.

He is survived by one sister, Lola Joshlin of Memphis: one brother, Hubert Morrow of Jumpertown: four nieces, Louise Thornton of Rienzi, Evone Bullard of Wheeler, Elaine Green of Corinth and Betty Michael of Booneville: and five nephews, Ellis Wren of Rienzi, Garry Wren of Corinth, Freddie Geno, Bobby Morrow and Steve Morrow, all of Jumpertown.

JOHN MORROW

BALDWYN - John Martin Morrow, 81, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County. He was born Sept. 22, 1918, to William Frank and Bess Morrow of the Danville community. He was the Prentiss Cowry Tax Assessor from 1980 68. He was employed by the Prentiss ASCS Office for several years. He worked for the Right of Way Division of the Mississippi State Highway Department.

He was a former member of Ml. Olive Baptist Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent for 36 years, chairman of the Board of Des, cons, church clerk and church treasurer. He was a farmer and cattleman and was currently serving on the Board of the Keowinville Water Association. He was a member of the Soil and Water District  Ha was currently member and deacon at 0zbim Creek Baptist Church He served as chancery clerk bailiff for the Chancery Court of Prentiss County. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening and sharing these talents with his friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Wiygel and Dr. Joe Mclntire officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Yarbrough Morrow of Baldwyn; four stepdaughters, Mary Nunley Gilliam of Dallas, Pam Dykes, Diannah Coggins and Cindy Billiot of Baldwyn; two step sons, Roger Hatfield of Booneville and Sammy Hatfield of Baldwyn; six step grandchildren, one step great grandchild; one brother, Roy Morrow of Florence, Ala., one sister, Mattie Ami of Baldwyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers. Eugene and Jimmy Marrow, and two sisters, Francis Holly and Rose Little.

GUNTOWN - Richard Owen Morrow, 50, died Friday, May 28, 2004, as a result of an auto accident. He was a lifetime resident of Lee County, living in Saltillo and Guntown. He worked for Process and Power for 18 years and was currently working for Stan Johnson Contractors. He had a special talent for restoring antique cars and trucks. He enjoyed attending antique car show and spending time in his shop with special friends and shop buddies. He was a member of the Mayfield Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Mayfield Church of Christ with Bro. Clyde Mize officiating. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Frank and Helen Morrow of Saltillo; two sisters, Jean Massey and husband, Lloyd, of Aberdeen, and Alisa Webb and husband, John, of Tupelo; one brother, Greg Morrow and wife, Wendy, of Guntown; two nephews, Brent Davidson of Saltillo and Eric Baker of Tupelo; two special nieces, Emily Morrow and Katie Morrow of Guntown.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noval and Eula Clark and Eugene and Emily Morrow.

IUKA - Derrell Morton, 65, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. He was an employee of the Grand Casino in Tunica. His hobbies were cooking for friends and family, playing the guitar and piano, and singing.

She was a member of Biggersville First Baptist Church and a former employee of the Corinth Machinery Company. She loved and devoted her life to her family.

PLANTERSVILLE - Mamie Gertrude Moses, 91, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at the Beverly Health Center, Eason, after a three week illness. She was born in the Union community south of Plantersville on Oct. 23, 1911, to the late Matthew Edwards and Martha Alice Dodson Edwards. She lived most of her life in south Lee County. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Herman Moses, who died March 3, 1977. She enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting and her Garrett snuff.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Cayson officiating. Steve Holland will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Plantersville Cemetery.

TISHOMINGO - Edna Moss, 72, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ. She was formerly employed at the Iuka Shirt Factory for 32 years. She later retired from the Irwin B. Schwabe Co. in Paden.

Linda Andrews Moss, 56, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born Oct. 12, 1941. In Union County to Frederick Burdett, and Ethel Louise Wise Andrews. She was a retired employee of South Central Bell after 20 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Mavous Phifer officiating. Burial will be in the Forked Oak Cemetery near Booneville.

IUKA - Mamie Moss, 81, died Wednesday morning at the Tishomingo County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a housewife and a Baptist. She was the widow of Charley N. Moss.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtiss Briley and the Rev. Al Isiac officiating. There will be a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery near Fulton.

BOONEVILLE - Max Ray Moss, 71, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at his home after a long illness. He sold building materials for 45 years. He was a member of Little Brown Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Clouse and the Rev. Mavis Phifer officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery.

Survivors include, his wife of 46 years, Mouvaline Smith Moss; his mother, Luna Moss of Booneville; one son, Steve Moss of Corinth; three sisters, Annie Mae Tidwell and Eloise Wilson, both of Booneville, and Harriet Davis of St. Charles, Mo.

MILDRED MOSS

Mildred Christine Woodruff Moss, 74, of Fort Collins, Colo., died Wednesday, May 30, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.

Services were Saturday, June 2, at 4 p.m. at Meadowlark Church of Christ. Burial was held privately at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Goes Funeral Care was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Prentiss County to Blunt and Johnnie Pierce Woodruff. She married Carl Moss on April 26, 1943, in Alcorn County, Miss., under the old oak tree. She attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Urbana, III., and then received her Bachelors of Science degree at Fnstem Illinois University in Charleston, III. She concluded her career working as a nursing administrator at Adolph Meyers State Mental Hospital in Decatur, Ill.

Mrs. Moss was a member of the Newcomers Club and helped found the Newcomers Alumni Association. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Northern Colorado Quilters and the LINQ quilting club. She was also a member of the Poudre Patch Workers, the Aspen Club in Ft. Collins and volunteered at the Harmony House. She was a member of Meadowlark Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Moss; two sons, Carl L. Moss of Pen Rose, N. C., and Tommy H. Moss of Fort Collins; three daughters, Christy G. Taylor of Springfield, Ill., Sherry A. Kinnamon of Edmond, Okla . and Penny C: Datton of Champaign, Ill.; her mother, Johnnie Woodruff of Booneville; two sisters, Helen McNutt and Weatha Davis, both of Booneville; two brothers, W. J. Woodruff and Hayden Woodruff, all of Booneville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Blunt Woodruff.

Melba Rushing Mounts, 79, died Thursday, November 30, 1995, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Tishomingo County to the late George and Maggie Alevinne Rushing. She was a retired nursing assistant at the St. Margaret's Hospital in Hammond, Ind., for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Ind.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the New Lebanon Baptist Church in Tishomingo County with the Rev. Cecil Woodruff officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. McPeter's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

CORINTH - Jewell Smith Knight Mullins, 80, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Whitfield Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Corinth, she was born May 24, 1924, to the late William T. and Minnie Barnes Smith. She was a member of East Corinth Church of Christ. Her hobby was visiting and caring for others. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

CORINTH - John Allen Mullins, 94, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the Corinth Health and Rehab. He was a charter member of the Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rites. He was a former motel and department store manager. For 12 years he was employed as a Bailiff for the Circuit Court system of Alcorn County.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the McPeters Funeral Directors Chapel with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Oaks Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include one niece, Retha Dees of Kossuth; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

ZION, Ill. - Perry "Junior" Murley, 77, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, Ill. He was born May 29, 1927, in Booneville. He moved to Zion, Ill., in 1951. He retired from Johns-Manville after 32 years. He was a member of Meadowridge Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. An avid woodworker, he enjoyed furniture making, gardening, and his grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion, Ill., with Dr. Rob Whitworth officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion.

He was born July 8, 1958 in Westerly, Rhode Island to Perry Wayne Murley and Betty Lee Clark Murley, who preceded him in death. He was employed as a truck driver by Morgan Van Lines. He enjoyed watching TV and movies.

BOONEVILLE - Bessie May Murphy, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. She was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Booneville to Charles William Murphy and Minnie Hathcock Murphy. She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Mrs. Murphy was the widow of George S. Murphy. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

She is survived by a son, Leamon Atkins of Spiro, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mrs. Wyndel (Elledita) Harris of Marietta, Mrs. Joe (Esta Lee) Gann of Booneville and Mrs. Zannie Cook of Kenosha, Wisconsin; a brother, J.D. BOONEVILLE – Thaddeus Eugene “Thad” Murphy, 50, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at this home in Booneville. HE was born May 18, 1950 in Booneville to Leonard Eugene Murphy and Ednis Jones Murphy. He was a computer technician. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, sports and computers.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gospel music, sewing, and being with her family and friends.

Grady W. Murphy Iuka - 87, died Tuesday July 18, 2000 at the Iuka Hospital. He was a retired saw miller and an Army veteran. He was the most decorated soldier from Tishomingo County during World War II.

BOONEVILLE - Joyce Jean Franks Murphy, 48, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the North Miss. Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a disabled factory worker and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Skippy Murphy of Booneville; three daughters, Tracy Holley and her husband, Kevin, of Hinkle, Angel Murphy of Booneville, and Mary Alice Hicks and her husband, Joey, of Corinth; one son, Lee Murphy of Booneville; her parents, Clatus and Mary Lou Franks of Booneville; her mother-in-law, Mary Murphy of Booneville; one sister, Sherry McClellan and her husband, Roy, of Booneville; two brothers, Dalton Franks of Meridian and William Franks of Booneville; seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joey Hicks, Roy McClellan, Bryan Lee, Greg Murphy, Chris Lindley and Roundle McVey.

LARRY MURPHY

BOONEVILLE - Larry Mitchell Murphy, 54, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at his residence after a sudden illness. He had been a service technician for Gold Bond Pest Control before becoming disabled. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War

Services will be at 2 p .m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Gain's Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Tony Murphy of Alabama; his mother, Mary Murphy of Booneville, four sisters, Debra Lindley and her husband, Johnny, Janie McVey and her husband, Roundle, and Rubble McCoy and her husband, Ronnie, all of Booneville and Kathy Burns and her husband, Bobby, of Ripley: two brothers, Jimmy Murphy and his wife Jackie, of Booneville and Sloppy Murphy and his wife Joyce, of Booneville; one grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Prentiss Murphy; and one brother. John Wayne Murphy.

IUKA - Meskel Murphy, 66, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include her husband, John R. BOONEVILLE – N.B. “Brodie” Murphy, 79, died Wednesday at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and Air Force Veteran and a retired farmer.

RUBY MURPHY

CORINTH - Ruby Alma Seago Murphy, 91, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Mississippi Care Center. She was a member of West Corinth Pentecostal Tabernacle. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed fellowshipping and helping others.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the West Corinth Pentecostal Tabernacle with Bro. Merl Dixon and Bro. Tim Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Scotts Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Scotts Hill, Tenn. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, James Harold Murphy and wife, Evon, of Memphis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Henry Murphy; her parents, Malachi Seago and Ellen Smith Seago; her brothers, Robert Seago and wife, Rosetta, Charlie Seago and wife, Elaine, and Chester Seago and wife, Edith; and her sisters, Lillian Seago Brady and husband, W. Y., and Inoma Seago.

THAD MURPHY

BOONEVILLE - Thaddeus Eugene "Thad" Murphy, 50, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at his home in Booneville. He was born May 18, 1950, in Booneville to Leonard Eugene Murphy and Ednis Jones, Murphy. He was a computer technician. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, sports and computers.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Mormon Cemetery with Bishop John Larsen officiating; Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Harold and Sharon Jones of Bell, Mo., and Tom and Lynne Murphy of Booneville: two sisters and their husbands, Diane and Larry Howard of Hickory Flat, and Debra and Mike Duncan of Ripley; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tom Murphy, Johnny Murphy, Andrew Murphy, Michael Duncan, Larry Howard and Harold Jones.

VANCE S. MURPHY

CORINTH - Vance S. Murphy, 91, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at her residence. She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Alcorn County to the late Jessie and Amanda Smith. She was a member of the West Corinth Church of Christ. She was the widow of former Chief of Police Art Murphy. She was retired from ITT after several years and enjoyed working puzzles.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers J. A. Thornton and G. W. Childs officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Johnston of Corinth; one grandchild, Mike Johnston an his wife, Robbie, of Corinth; her grandchildren, Paula, Michael and Matthew Johnston, Joseph Crawford and Kenneth Crawford; many nieces and nephews and extended family; and friend Karen Long.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Evelyn Clements, Gladys Dalton, Mary Elizabeth Long, Maxine Hughes; and one brother, Ernest Murphy.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VERNIA MURPHY

BOONEVILLE   Vernia Sue Murphy, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was the widow of Clyde Murphy and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Prentiss Manufacturing.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Salts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Brown of Booneville, Curley Paul of Berwyn, III, and Jane Skaggs of Roanoke. Texas; two sons, Gordon Derrick of Thrasher and James Derrick of Hazlehurst; one stepdaughter, Reba Wright of Houston, Texas; two stepsons, Denny Ray Murphy of Illinois and Pink Murphy of Booneville; two sisters, Virginia Ralph of Ripley and Guy Cissom of Memphis; three brothers, Earl Newby and Cutah Newby, both of Booneville, and A. J. Newby of Ripley; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Derrick; a sister, Era Ralph; and two brothers, Homer and Dewey Newby.

W. M. MURPHY

BOONEVILLE – W. M. Murphy, 85, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Booneville, serving on various boards and committees. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 37. He was a member of Gideons International and the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association, and a life member of the NRA. He was the founder and retired president of Murphy's International Inc. He was a former maintenance superintendent with the Mississippi Highway Department and had been associated with Michael Oil Leasing in Jackson. He was a farmer and cattleman.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, William M. "Bill" Murphy III and his wife, Martha, of Booneville; a sister, Ruth Tollison of Booneville; two grandsons, Christopher Moses Murphy, and Matthew Locke Murphy and his wife, Ginger, all of Booneville; a great-granddaughter, Kelsea Madison Murphy of Booneville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelwyn Michael Murphy; his parents, William Moses and Rausie Murphy; and a brother, Paul Murphy.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Jennings, Hal Willcoxon, Ricky Prather, Marvin Ozbirn, Luke Hankins and Jodie Rone.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Wesley Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church.

WILLENE MURRAH

IUKA - Willene Hanson Murrah, 75, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Ala. She was a member of Iuka Baptist Church and retired from the Iuka Shirt Factory after 25 years of employment. She enjoyed traveling, being with her family and growing flowers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Iuka Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Holcomb and the Rev. Ron Plymel officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lamar Murrah of Iuka; two sons, Mike Murrah and wife, Debbie, and David Murrah and wife, Cindi, all of Iuka; a daughter, Donna McAnally and husband, Buddy, of Iuka; a sister, JoAnne Garrison and husband, David, of New Albany; six grandchildren, Brandon McAnally and wife, Paula, Chris Murrah and wife, Debra, and LeeAnn Murrah, all of Iuka, Ben McAnally and wife, Anna Reid, of Arlington, Tenn., Dustin Smith of Corinth and Eric Smith of Jackson; a great-grandchild, Madison McAnally of Iuka.

ALLEN MURRAY

IUKA - Allen Murray, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at his residence. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Burlington Industries in Stonewall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Kirk Murray.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Dale Whitlock and Bro. Bill Darnell officiating. Burial will be in the Short Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kirk Murray and William Larry Murray, both of Enterprise; two daughters, Martha Jean Keely of Enterprise and Frances Louise Perdue of Birmingham, Ala.; one brother, Clarence Murray of Enterprise; two sisters, Mary Frances Davidson of Stonewall and Ruby Graham of Quitman; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Keith Williams, Carrie Williams, Kirk Murray, Kyle Murray, Kip Murray, Mark Keely, Chris Tricky, Carl Murray and Dustin Murray.

JOHN MOUNT MUSE

John Mount Muse, 74, of Decatur, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, due to complications arising from a stroke while on a cruise to the Caribbean.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1930, in Booneville, the son of Lora and Fred Muse. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1952 with a degree in pharmacology after which he moved to Atlanta and joined the U. S. Army and served in Germany. In 1956, he married Elizabeth Geraldine Floyd of Baldwyn and settled in Atlanta where he worked as a pharmacist the rest of his years, the majority of which were spent owning and operating The Prescription Center located in Decatur and Tucker.

He was a lifetime member of Emory Presbyterian Church, Scout Master of Troop 55, leading three trips to Philmont Scout Ranch, N. M. He was president of DeKalb Pharmaceutical Society, president of Druid Hills High School Band Boosters, Tee league coach, a member of the Rotary Club, an avid golfer and tennis player at Druid Hills Country Club.

After the death of his wife Geraldine, he married Virginia Vickery Sams on May 2, 1998.

Memorial services will be Thursday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Muse; son, John Howard Muse and wife, Carey, children, Elizabeth and Christopher of Decatur, Ga.; daughter, Janice Janelle Muse of Tucson, Ariz.; son,

Fred Mount Muse and wife, Sharon, children, Riley and Sydney of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Maxwell Floyd Muse of Los Angeles, Calif.; his brother, Fred and wife, Rachel, of Bethlehem, Ga.; niece, Audrey Muse of Lithonia, Ga.; stepchildren, Evelyn and husband Steve Wilson, children, Rob and Brooke, Catherine and husband Collins Thomas, children, Eileen and Marshall and Jennifer Sams.

LONA MURRAY

IUKA - Lona Mae Parsons Murray, 97, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Providence Baptist Church with Perry Taylor and Bro. Earl Martin officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Emma Rast and husband, Clifford, and Easter Wadkins, all of Iuka; six grandchildren, Shirlee Taylor and husband, Wayne, of Booneville, Betty Bishop and husband, Jerry, of Marietta, and Margie Williams and husband, Dale, Kathy Thomas and husband, Richard, Jim Rast and wife, Delores, and Gail Cain and husband, Donald, all of Iuka; 11 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Parsons and Jack Murray; an infant son, James Thomas Parsons; her parents, Jim and Nancy Keller Oliver; two brothers, Henry Oliver and Lee Oliver; three sisters, Hattie Moore, Donna Oliver and Birdie Moore; and a son-in-law, Clinton Wadkins.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bishop, Wayne Taylor, Jim Rast, Dale Williams, Donnie Cain and Richard Thomas.

HARLEY MUSE

NEW PORT RICHIE, FL – Harley H. Muse, 90, formerly of Hickory Flat, died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at Forrest Glen Manor in New Port Ritchie, Florida. He was born August 17, 1914 in Wheeler to Emma Walker Muse. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a factory foreman for the Deluxe Factory.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Hickory Flat. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery in Hickory Flat. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie M. Barfield of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Muse, and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

KATHY MUSE

Miss Katherine D. "Kathy" Muse, 45, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, of cancer at Whispering Pines Hospice

Services were Monday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Clinton Chapel. Burial was Wednesday, May 31, in Booneville Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of graveside services.

Miss Muse was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1972 and Delta State University class of 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. After growing up in Clinton, She lived and worked in the Dallas/Forth Worth. Texas, area for the past 15 years where she was project manager with Carrington Mortgage Services Inc. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Denton, Texas. She was accomplished on the guitar and used this to the glory of God. Her life was a testimony to her belief in God.

She is survived by her parents, Fred Howard and Rachel Cover Muse of Clinton: a sister, Dr. Audrey Jane Muse of Snellville, Ga.; her uncle and aunt, John and Virginia Muse of Decatur, Ga.; and an uncle and aunt, Bill and Sandy Cover of Fairview, Mont.

SARA JANE MUSE

Sara Jane Muse, 71, formerly of Booneville, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, after a brief illness at her home in Gwinnett County, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.

A memorial service was held at the Zoar United Methodist Church in Lithonia, Ga, at 7 p.m., Monday, July 19. Graveside services were Wednesday, July 2!, at I p.m. at Booneville Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Kennedy officiating. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Muse was born to Fred and Lora Muse on June IS, 1928. During her years in Booneville, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a niece of ‘Miss Bertie” Campbell. She attended Booneville High School throughout her high school years and was editor-in-chief of the yearbook, Memories and class valedictorian. She received her degree in Library Science from Mississippi State College for Women (MSCVT) in 1950. She worked at the University of Mississippi Library.

She had lived in the Atlanta area since 1952. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Georgia after she moved to Atlanta. Miss Muse was a Media Specialist in numerous elementary and high schools in the Atlanta and Dekalb school systems, before retiring in the mid-l980s.

She was active in the Zoar United Methodist Church and its Guiding Light Sunday School class in Lithonia, Ga. She was secretary to the Administrative

Board, her hobbies included crafts, her cats, her yard and traveling with a wide circle of friends.

She is survived by two brothers Fred Howard Muse and his wife, Rachel, of Clinton and John Mount Muse and his wife, Virginia, of Atlanta, Ga.; nieces, Kathy and Audrey Muse of Denton, Texas, Janelle Muse of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Dr. John Howard Muse and his wife, Carey, and Fred Mount Muse his wife, Sharon all of Atlanta, Ga., and Maxwell Muse of Los Angeles. Calif.

THOMAS MYHAND

BALDWYN - Thomas O. Myhand, 53, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at his daughter's home in Tennessee. He was born July 20, 1950, in Guntown. He was a carpenter and a member of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church. His children called him "Daddy," and his grandkids will remember him as "Papaw."

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gerald Cagle officiating. Burial will be in the East Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Sanford Myhand of Baldwyn; seven children, Bruce Myhand and wife, Jill, of Baldwyn, Brad Myhand of Baldwyn, Adam Myhand of the home, Malissa Hoard and husband, Larry, of Bartlett, Tenn., Eric Braden of Tupelo, Wade and Stephanie Braden of Saltillo, and Jodi Braden of Tupelo; a sister, Pauline Jones and husband, Johnny, of Guntown; a brother, Rex Myhand and wife, Debra, of Guntown; five grandchildren, Jordyn and Jacob Myhand, Meagan and Kalah Hoard, and Cameron Myhand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, V.T. "Mutt" and Eva Hester Myhand; a brother, Elvis Myhand; and a sister, Margaret "Lizzie" Ratliff.
