BELMONT - James Michael Knecht, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a native of Mississippi and a cabinet worker at Sunshine Homes for 26 years.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Knecht of Belmont; a daughter, Kayla Knecht of Belmont; a son, Jason Michael Knecht of Belmont; his father, James Knecht of Concord, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Johnson, and Sharon Embrey and husband, Larry, all of Dennis; a niece, Jana Johnson of Red Bay, Ala.; three nephews, Adam Johnson of Alaska, and Jody Embrey and Stephen Embrey, both of Dennis; special children, Josh Riddings and Justin Riddings, both of Dennis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pauline Garrett; his stepfather, Kenneth Garrett; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Ozbirn.

Pallbearers will be Larry Flournoy, Frankie Flournoy, James Murphy, Rick Jasper, David West and Michael Flournoy.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the church.

Angela Lynne Knight, 37, of Irvin, Texas, died April 3, 2001, after a long illness.

She is survived by her father, Bobby Gene Knight of Ripley; daughters, Brandy, Crystan and Melissa, all of Irving, Texas; broth­ers, Robert Dale Knight of Savannah, Tenn., Mike Knight of Irving, Texas, Sonny Knight, Tony Knight; sisters, Sandy Knight, Amanda Knight and Cindy Johnson, all of Booneville, Jeanie Beddow of Sa­vannah, Tenn., and Jeanice Morgan of Southaven; grandmother, Lu­cille Knight Johnson of Booneville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Vernon Knight and her grandfather, Johnnie W. Knight, both of Booneville and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Burt of Tampa, Fla.

 

BONNIE BENJAMIN KNIGHT

BOONEVILLE - Bonnie Benjamin Knight, 89, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at his home in Blackland. A lifelong resident of Prentiss County, he was born June 7, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. John Riley Knight. He was a member of Blackland Lord Jesus Christ Church. He married Vera Frances McVay on May 1, 1934. He was a retired road grader driver for Prentiss County's 2nd District. He also raised hogs. He enjoyed being with his family, playing the French harp, singing and going to church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Blackland Lord Jesus Christ Church with Bro. Merle Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery. Salts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Vera Frances Knight of Booneville; two daughters, Clara Yarbrough, and Lois Wayne Robinson and husband, Thurman, all of Rienzi; four sons, J. B. Knight and wife, Linda, Wilford Knight and wife, Mary Ann, and Richard Knight, all of Booneville, and Bonnie Howard Knight and wife, Mary Bell, of Ripley; 22 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Bill Brumley; a sister, Frances Williams of Booneville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Lester Knight and Billy Rex Knight; and several brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Terry McMillan, Johnny Knight, Greg Knight, Mike McAnally, Ben Gilley Jr. and Odean Bullock.

 

BUDDY KNIGHT

WHEELER - Buddy Knight, 72, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born March 6, 1933, in Alabama to the late Preston and Viola Haithcock Knight. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a retired car dealer and owner of Knight Motors for 23 years. He was a member of Worship Center Independent Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Robert Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Prentiss Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joyce Ricks Knight; a niece whom he helped raise, Wanda McGrew Kesler and husband, Ronny, of Baldwyn; two brothers, Will Knight and wife, Joanne, of Pontotoc, and Jim Knight and wife, Paula, of Wabbaseka, Ark.; his grandchildren, Clay, Cayson and Sam Kesler, Carlie, Callie and Emma Grace McGrew; one great-grandson, Logan Kesler; a niece-in-law, Rebecca Wood; his mother-in-law, Dora Cravens; four sisters-in-law, Sue Rowlett, Linda Byrd, Edith Kurrus and Bobbie Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew he helped raise, Jeff McGrew; three sisters, Artie Blackburn, Jackie Pierce and Faye McGrew; a granddaughter, Josie Faye McGrew.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services For Charles Clyde Knight Held On Saturday

Funeral services for Charles Clyde Knight of Booneville were conducted Saturday morning in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home. Burial was in the Jumper town Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mr. Knight, who was a clerk in a grocery store, was injured in an automobile accident several days ago. He passed away Wednesday, November 18 in the North Missis­sippi Community Hospital in Tu­pelo. He was a member of 'the Church of God and' 18 years of age.

He leaves his wife, Mrs Eluoise Ivy Knight; his parents, J. W. and Mrs. Lucille Melton Knight; seven brothers, Wilburn Keith Knight of Booneville, John H. Knight of Ger­many, Billy W. Knight of. Hawaii, Robert Knight of Memphis, Loyd Edward Knight, Melton Ray Knight and Douglas Harold Knight, all of Booneville; five sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Hamby of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Shirley Rayfield of Germany, Miss Sarah Knight of Kentwood, La., Catheri Misses Martha Bell Knight.

 

DEXTER CALVIN KNIGHT

Dexter Calvin Knight, 58, of Ripley, died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services were Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Hardy and the Rev. David Paseur officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery near Tiplersville.

Mr. Knight was a retired painter and owner of K and R Tire Store. He was a member of Ripley American Legion and attended Providence Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Vonnie Calvin Knight. He served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Knight of Ripley; his mother, Ruth Knight of Booneville; one daughter, Deborah Michael and her husband, Geary, of Dumas; three sons, Presley Rawson and his wife, Wanda, of Ripley, Darrell Rawson and his wife, Brenda, of Blue Mountain, Gene Knight and his wife, Bobbye Nell, of Tiplersville; three sisters, Virgie Shook' and Louise Self, both of Booneville and Mary Faye Chung of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, James Knight of Dry Creek; nine grandchildren, Derrick Carpenter, Greg Carpenter, Chris Michael, Brentley Rawson, Candace Rawson, Leslie Rawson, Jennifer Rawson, Ben Knight and Bailey Knight.

 

ERNEST C. KNIGHT

Ernest C. Knight, 77, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was retired from the U. S. military after 21 years ser­vice in the U. S. Navy, U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from Dana Corp. where he worked for 18 years. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed traveling and drinking coffee with his friends.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Knight; a son, Johnny Dale and Anicia Knight of Corinth; a daughter, Donna Fay Knight and. Jim Johnson, of Glen; a sister; Carolyn Sue

Larence Wilkins of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Michael T. Knight, April Burns, Andrew Burns, Joseph Burns, Jonathan and  Ansley Burns; numerous nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson; a son, Tommy Ray Knight; his parents, Char­lie S. Knight and Lovina Knight; two sisters, Lillie Mae Phillips and Mary Smith; seven brothers, Claude, Sylvester, L. C., David, Charles, Jimmy and James Knight; and his father‑in‑law and mother‑in­- law, William T. and Nora Mal­one.

CORINTH - Juanita Maxine Knight, 73, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She attended Synagogue School in Biggersville. She worked at the old community hospital in Corinth and retired from Rockland State Hospital in Orangebury, N.Y. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, going to baseball games at Yankee Stadium, traveling, and participating in activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Little Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Joe J. SALTILLO - Kathryn "Big Mamma" Knight, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was a native of the Beech Springs community and a longtime resident of Saltillo. She was a retired supervisor for Playcraft in Saltillo after more than 40 years. She was a member of the Saltillo Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting. She was the widow of Charles H. Knight Sr., who died in 1981.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Scotty Witcher officiating. Burial will be Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Glover of Saltillo; a son, Charles "Buddy" Knight Jr. and wife, Jannette, of Saltillo; a sister, Verta Cole of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren, Sandy Smith and husband, Sam, of Amory, Charles H. "Butch" Knight III and wife, Gail, of Booneville, William N. "Bubba" Knight and wife, Deanna, of Saltillo, Tracy Moore and husband, Kevin, of Guntown, and Curt Glover and wife, Cheramie, of Florien, La.; 11 great-grandchildren.

Kathy Knight, 41, of Booneville, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a brief illness.

Services were Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pete McCoy officiating. Burial was in Carter's Chapel Cemetery.

Ms. Knight worked for the Mississippi State Department of Health.

She is survived by her fiancé, Jackie Taylor of Booneville, two daughters, Sandy Mitchell and Cindy Knight, both of Booneville; two sons, Sonny Knight and Tony Knight, both of Booneville; one sister, Irene Baker of Guntown; three brothers, Thomas Shook, Bobby Shook and Jimmy Shook, all of Booneville; three grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell, Kolby Knight and Kesley Knight.

Rites For Laudie Bell Knight Held Monday Morning

Funeral services for Mr. Laudic Unit Knight of Booneville, were hold Monday morning at the First United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Clayborn Holliday and Bro. M. D. Padfield officiating. Burial was in the Jumpertown Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mrs. Knight passed away Saturday in the House of Prayer Church where he was conducting services. Be was a retired farmer and an active Pentecostal minister. He was 64.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Alexander Knight of Booneville; two daughters, Mrs. Ordine Miles of Booneville, Route 5, and Mrs. Bytherine Burcham Michael of Doug

Ga.; five brothers, Claude Knight of Walls, Miss., Berry, Johnnie and Bonnie Knight of Booneville and Vonnie Knight of Whitfield, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Maudie Cartwright of Booneville, and Mrs. Francis Williams of Memphis; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

CORINTH - Lucille Knight, 91, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at the Alcorn County Rehab and Health Center. She was a member of the Waldron Street Christian Church. She was very family oriented and was always attended the needs of her family, her friends and her church family. She was married to Slater Knight in 1929.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Ted Avant officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Parker and her husband, Lee, of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Jane McDaniel and her husband, Bobby, and Jimmy Knight, all of Corinth, Tony Knight of Memphis, Tenn., Danny Knight of Florida, and Ricky Knight and his wife, Debbie, of Michie, Tenn.; several great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

CORINTH - Martha Knight, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah, Kentucky.

Services will be at noon Saturday at the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert McGee officiating. Burial will be in the Ramer Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one niece, Ester Lee Gaines; and one nephew, J.C. Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hardy Knight; her father, Will Bynum; her mother, Josie Johnson; five brothers; and three sisters.

Mary Ruth Knight, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Longwood Community Living Center in Booneville following an extended illness.

Services were Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronald Jones and Bro. Tracey Arnold officiating. Burial was in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by a son, James V. Knight and hi$ wife, Daphne of Baldwyn; three daughters, Virgie Shook, Louise Hill Self, both of Booneville and Mary Faye Cheung of Buford, Ga.; a brother, James Freeze and his wife, Velma, of Wheeler; a sister, Gladys Stanton of Booneville; 38 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vonnie C. Knight, in 1976; a son, Dexter C. Knight; four sisters, Essie Morgan, Jewel Hubbard, Maggie Stanton and Virginia Cole.

CORINTH - Stella Mae Knight, 72, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

CORINTH - Lillian A. Knighton, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a native of Prentiss County and a graduate of Farmington High School. She was an active member of Farmington Baptist Church for many years. She and her husband were co-owners of K & K Truck Stop and retired from there. Prior to that she had worked in retail sales. She enjoyed cooking and helping others.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Nall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McPeters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

BOONEVILLE - James Franklin Knowles Sr., 73, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was a member of Beckley Chapel CME Church, where he was a Sunday school superintendent, the exhorter, and a member of the Steward Board, Trustee Board and male chorus. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He attended Alcorn State University and A & M University, and received a B. A. degree in teaching with credentials in agriculture. He taught for 33 years at Louise Training School in Louise, Wick Anderson High School in Booneville and Mantachie High School in Mantachie. He loved his church, his family and his community.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beckley Chapel CME Church in Booneville with the Rev. Carl L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Beckley Chapel Memorial Gardens. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary of Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his children, James F. IUKA - Robert Dale Knupp, 53, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at his home. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He attended New Salem Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting and basketball.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Danny Bell officiating. Burial will be in Patrick Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Lesa Knupp of Iuka; his mother, Robbie Dell Knupp of Savannah, Tenn.; three sons, Robbie Knupp, Eli Knupp and Clay Knupp, all of Iuka.


OBIE KOON

BOONEVILLE – Surrounded by his family, Obie T. Koon departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born August 27, 1925, in Prentiss County to Obie Roy and Carrie Mae Martin Koon. He attended Osborne Creek and Blackland Schools. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a Baptist.

He willingly served his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. He served as Radarman 3rd Class-aboard the USS Gordon, a transport carrier. He made several tours to the South Pacific and North Africa. After the war, he re-enlisted and was stationed in Panama City, Florida. After returning home to North Mississippi, he co-owned and operated Weeks & Koon Service Station. He was also a farmer not only working his acres but also helping neighbors and friends. Later he owned and operated Koon's Texaco Station. He retired from DeVinney Construction Company.

In 1950, he married Zana Holland Smith, and they welcomed two children, Nelson and Susan. During Zana's illness, he lovingly cared for her while working and raising two children. In 1965, he married Sis Downs, and they welcomed three children, Annett, Tyron and Roy. He loved his family and taught them by example.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth "Sis" Koon; his five children, Nelson (Mary) Koon of Fulton, Susan Lambert, Annett (Steve) Treece, Tyron (Suzanne) Koon, and Roy (Leslie) Koon, all of Booneville; his grandchildren, Holly (Jim) Gray, Laura (Zac) Richardson, Bryson (Lauren) Lambert, Tyler Koon, Cody Koon, Trey Koon, Annabelle Bullard, and Davis Koon; seven great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Sandra (Phil) Purvis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Zana Holland Smith Koon in 1964; sisters, Virginia Koon Rowland and Lera Koon Rowland; and a son-in-law, Johnny Lambert.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2012, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm today and until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Gray, Zac Richardson, Bryson Lambert, Tyler Koon, Cody Koon, Trey Koon, and Davis Koon.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Carolina Methodist Church Building Fund, 2001 Ninth Street, Booneville, MS 38829, or to a charity of your choice.

WINNIE KOON

BOONEVILLE - Winnie Fay Tollison Koon, 83, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wade Koon; one daughter, Sue Harrison; one sister, Leola Mills; one brother, Ruey Tollison; and two grandsons, Perry and Jon Cristo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Cagle and Minister Jerry Childs officiating. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Bryant and her husband, Liddell, of DeRidder, La., and Martha Cristo and her husband, Ted, of Booneville; one sister, Jettie Mae Koon of Corinth; nine grandchildren, Charlotte Lott, Shelia Dougherty, Lyndon Smith, Gaylon Smith, Sidona Ryan, Nelson Smith, Mike Cristo, Louise Cristo and Jason Cristo; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.

 

MARY KOONTZ

RED BAY, Ala. - Mary Georgiana Koontz, 40, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at the Care Center of Red Bay, Ala. She was a native of Alabama.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with the Rev. Victor Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.

Survivors include two special friends, Patricia Hall and Bonnie Pearson, both of Red Bay, Ala.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

 

WALTER L. KOSZYK

BATESVILLE - Walter Lewis Koszyk, 60, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at the Corinth Rehab and Health Care Facility. He was born June 10, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He had been a resident of Batesville sin 1985. He was a retired truck driver and of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1960 until June 1966. A perfectness with all tasks, he especially enjoyed caring for the lawn and gardening.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Walter L. Koszyk Jr. of Batesville; two daughters, Rebecca M. Brewer and her husband, Jeff, and Kimberly Ann Lantrip and her husband, Keith, all of Batesville; one brother, Michael Koszyk of Chrystal Falls, Mich.; two sisters, Judy Koszyk and Susan Greer and her husband, Michael, of Palatine, Ill.; the mother of his children and friend, Diane Prescott Koszyk of Batesville; his grandchildren, Tim, Anthony and Bobby Jaco and Ashton Blaine Brewer, John Collins and Cameron Koszyk.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter S. Koszyk.

BELMONT - Myrtle Rosalee Krey, 82, formerly of Wisconsin, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at her granddaughter's residence. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Krey and a son, Karl Krey.

CORINTH - Frank Edward Kuchenrither Jr., 78, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the Dogwood Plantation. He was a retired tool and die engineer for General Motors in Elyria, Ohio, with 33 years of service. He was a Catholic.

HAROLD KUYKENDALL

Harold Kuykendall, 56, of Dry Creek, died suddenly Wednesday. Dec. 11, 2002, at his home.

Services were Friday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Walker officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Kuykendall was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a Tutorial Director for South Tippah Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Kuykendall of Dry Creek: his mother, Lola Wayne Kuykendall of Dry Creek; one son, Brian Kuykendall of Dry Creek: two step-daughters, Halley and Hope Jumper of Dry Creek: one step-son, Cassidy Juniper of Dry Creek: one brother, Kenneth Kuykendall of Shannon and two grandsons, David and John Kuykendall of Dry Creek. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons, David and John Kuykendall.

 

 

IRA KUYKENDALL

BALDWYN - Ira A. Kuykendall, 92, died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-New Albany after a sudden illness. He was a teacher/coach for 34 years in the Union County Schools. He retired   from teaching in 1966. He later served 24 years on the Union County School Board of Education, 22 years on the Union County Hospital Board of Trustees and 20 years on the Democratic Executive Committee. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Smith and William Speck officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Christine Owen Kuykendall of Baldwyn; two daughters, Margie Koon of New Albany and Maxine Hall of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Milton Kuykendall of Horn Lake and Malcolm Kuykendall of Belmont; three sisters, Edna Schwanberg of New Albany, Ruby Eaton of Baldwyn and Evelyn Palmer of Ripley; one brother, Lemuel Kuykendall of Baldwyn; seven grandchildren, Debbie Walls of New Albany, Sonia and Jeff Hall of Phoenix, Ariz., Brad and Alex Kuykendall of Belmont and Jeannie and Ryan Kuykendall of Horn Lake; three great-grandchildren, Jody and Tiffanie Walls of New Albany and Jeffery Hall of Birmingham, Ala. His grandsons and other family members will serve as pallbearers.

BOONEVILLE - J. D. Kuykendall, 72, died Saturday. March 27, 1993, at the Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer, a retired carpenter, and a member of the Concord Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifford Smart officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Wayne Kuykendall of Booneville; two sons, Harold Kuykendall of Booneville and Kenneth Kuykendall of Dumas, one sister, Mary Hurt of Booneville; one brother, Vance Kuykendall of Booneville, and three grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m. today.

BALDWYN - Willard Lemuel Kuykendoll, 87, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Baldwyn Nursing Home. He was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

CORINTH - Ruby Gladys Kyle, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her flowers. She loved her family and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia Funeral Home's Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Doug Hambrick officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Kyle; her parents, Lonnie Rogers and Josie Mills Rogers; a granddaughter, Gladys Marie Hinton; five brothers, Ed Mincy, Bobby Mincy, Rufus Mincy, Rubon Rogers and Elzada Rogers; and three sisters, Flora Mahoney, Ola Rogers and Betsy Cokes.

Pallbearers will be David Palmer, Ken Lancaster, Harold Smith, Ben Putt, Buford Lancaster, James Essary and Lynn Lamb.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.

 

OLEVIA BAILEY KYLES

OKOLONA - Olevia Bailey Kyles, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Okolona. She was born Jan. 1, 1919, to the late Lonnie Bailey Sr. and Minerva King Bailey. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Nettleton and a homemaker. She was a former member of Zion Springs M. B. Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Springs M. B. Church with the Rev. Robert Fortson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Ella Mae Collins of Okolona; a godson, Lonnie E. Bailey of Egypt; a brother-in-law, Henry Fortson Sr. of Okolona; three grandchildren, Scott Collins Jr. of Okolona, Tyrone Collins and wife, Shelia, of Tupelo, and Renatta Collins of Okolona; two great-grandsons, Marcus and Jaqaveious Collins; two step grandchildren, Gale Swinney of Booneville and Leon Collins of Jackson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today and a wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services.
