BELMONT - James Michael Knecht, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a native of Mississippi and a cabinet worker at Sunshine Homes for 26 years.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Knecht of Belmont; a daughter, Kayla Knecht of Belmont; a son, Jason Michael Knecht of Belmont; his father, James Knecht of Concord, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Johnson, and Sharon Embrey and husband, Larry, all of Dennis; a niece, Jana Johnson of Red Bay, Ala.; three nephews, Adam Johnson of Alaska, and Jody Embrey and Stephen Embrey, both of Dennis; special children, Josh Riddings and Justin Riddings, both of Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pauline Garrett; his stepfather, Kenneth Garrett; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Ozbirn.

Angela Lynne Knight, 37, of Irvin, Texas, died April 3, 2001, after a long illness.
She is survived by her father, Bobby Gene Knight of Ripley; daughters, Brandy, Crystan and Melissa, all of Irving, Texas; brothers, Robert Dale Knight of Savannah, Tenn., Mike Knight of Irving, Texas, Sonny Knight, Tony Knight; sisters, Sandy Knight, Amanda Knight and Cindy Johnson, all of Booneville, Jeanie Beddow of Savannah, Tenn., and Jeanice Morgan of Southaven; grandmother, Lucille Knight Johnson of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Vernon Knight and her grandfather, Johnnie W. Knight, both of Booneville and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Burt of Tampa, Fla.

BOONEVILLE - Bonnie Benjamin Knight, 89, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at his home in Blackland. A lifelong resident of Prentiss County, he was born June 7, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. John Riley Knight. He was a member of Blackland Lord Jesus Christ Church. He married Vera Frances McVay on May 1, 1934. He was a retired road grader driver for Prentiss County's 2nd District. He also raised hogs. He enjoyed being with his family, playing the French harp, singing and going to church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Blackland Lord Jesus Christ Church with Bro. Merle Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery. Salts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Vera Frances Knight of Booneville; two daughters, Clara Yarbrough, and Lois Wayne Robinson and husband, Thurman, all of Rienzi; four sons, J. B. BUDDY KNIGHT
WHEELER - Buddy Knight, 72, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born March 6, 1933, in Alabama to the late Preston and Viola Haithcock Knight. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a retired car dealer and owner of Knight Motors for 23 years. He was a member of Worship Center Independent Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Robert Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Prentiss Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joyce Ricks Knight; a niece whom he helped raise, Wanda McGrew Kesler and husband, Ronny, of Baldwyn; two brothers, Will Knight and wife, Joanne, of Pontotoc, and Jim Knight and wife, Paula, of Wabbaseka, Ark.; his grandchildren, Clay, Cayson and Sam Kesler, Carlie, Callie and Emma Grace McGrew; one great-grandson, Logan Kesler; a niece-in-law, Rebecca Wood; his mother-in-law, Dora Cravens; four sisters-in-law, Sue Rowlett, Linda Byrd, Edith Kurrus and Bobbie Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services For Charles Clyde Knight Held On Saturday
Funeral services for Charles Clyde Knight of Booneville were conducted Saturday morning in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home. Burial was in the Jumper town Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.
Mr. Knight, who was a clerk in a grocery store, was injured in an automobile accident several days ago. He passed away Wednesday, November 18 in the North Mississippi Community Hospital in Tupelo. He was a member of 'the Church of God and' 18 years of age.
He leaves his wife, Mrs Eluoise Ivy Knight; his parents, J. W. and Mrs. Lucille Melton Knight; seven brothers, Wilburn Keith Knight of Booneville, John H. Knight of Germany, Billy W. Knight of. Hawaii, Robert Knight of Memphis, Loyd Edward Knight, Melton Ray Knight and Douglas Harold Knight, all of Booneville; five sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Hamby of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Shirley Rayfield of Germany, Miss Sarah Knight of Kentwood, La., Catheri Misses Martha Bell Knight.

Dexter Calvin Knight, 58, of Ripley, died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services were Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Hardy and the Rev. David Paseur officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery near Tiplersville.
Mr. Knight was a retired painter and owner of K and R Tire Store. He was a member of Ripley American Legion and attended Providence Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Vonnie Calvin Knight. He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Knight of Ripley; his mother, Ruth Knight of Booneville; one daughter, Deborah Michael and her husband, Geary, of Dumas; three sons, Presley Rawson and his wife, Wanda, of Ripley, Darrell Rawson and his wife, Brenda, of Blue Mountain, Gene Knight and his wife, Bobbye Nell, of Tiplersville; three sisters, Virgie Shook' and Louise Self, both of Booneville and Mary Faye Chung of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, James Knight of Dry Creek; nine grandchildren, Derrick Carpenter, Greg Carpenter, Chris Michael, Brentley Rawson, Candace Rawson, Leslie Rawson, Jennifer Rawson, Ben Knight and Bailey Knight.

Ernest C. Knight, 77, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was retired from the U. S. military after 21 years service in the U. S. Navy, U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from Dana Corp. where he worked for 18 years. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed traveling and drinking coffee with his friends.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

She worked at the old community hospital in Corinth and retired from Rockland State Hospital in Orangebury, N.Y. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, going to baseball games at Yankee Stadium, traveling, and participating in activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a native of the Beech Springs community and a longtime resident of Saltillo. She was a retired supervisor for Playcraft in Saltillo after more than 40 years. She was a member of the Saltillo Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting. She was the widow of Charles H. Knight Sr., who died in 1981.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Scotty Witcher officiating. Burial will be Lee Memorial Park.

Mrs. Knight passed away Saturday in the House of Prayer Church where he was conducting services. Be was a retired farmer and an active Pentecostal minister. He was 64.

She was very family oriented and was always attended the needs of her family, her friends and her church family. She was married to Slater Knight in 1929.

She was an active member of Farmington Baptist Church for many years. She and her husband were co-owners of K & K Truck Stop and retired from there. Prior to that she had worked in retail sales. She enjoyed cooking and helping others.

BOONEVILLE - James Franklin Knowles Sr., 73, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was a member of Beckley Chapel CME Church, where he was a Sunday school superintendent, the exhorter, and a member of the Steward Board, Trustee Board and male chorus. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He attended Alcorn State University and A & M University, and received a B. A. degree in teaching with credentials in agriculture. He taught for 33 years at Louise Training School in Louise, Wick Anderson High School in Booneville and Mantachie High School in Mantachie. He loved his church, his family and his community.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beckley Chapel CME Church in Booneville with the Rev. Carl L. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Beckley Chapel Memorial Gardens. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary of Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements.

BOONEVILLE – Surrounded by his family,
Obie T. Koon departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 19,
2012, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born August 27,
1925, in Prentiss County to Obie Roy and Carrie Mae Martin Koon. He
attended Osborne Creek and Blackland Schools. He was a loving and
devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was always willing to
lend a helping hand. He was a Baptist.
He willingly served
his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States
Coast Guard. He served as Radarman 3rd Class-aboard the USS Gordon, a
transport carrier. He made several tours to the South Pacific and
North Africa. After the war, he re-enlisted and was stationed in
Panama City, Florida. After returning home to North Mississippi, he
co-owned and operated Weeks & Koon Service Station. He was also a
farmer not only working his acres but also helping neighbors and
friends. Later he owned and operated Koon's Texaco Station. He
retired from DeVinney Construction Company.
In 1950, he
married Zana Holland Smith, and they welcomed two children, Nelson
and Susan. During Zana's illness, he lovingly cared for her while
working and raising two children. In 1965, he married Sis Downs, and
they welcomed three children, Annett, Tyron and Roy. He loved his
family and taught them by example.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth "Sis" Koon; his five children, Nelson (Mary) Koon of Fulton, Susan Lambert, Annett (Steve) Treece, Tyron (Suzanne) Koon, and Roy (Leslie) Koon, all of Booneville; his grandchildren, Holly (Jim) Gray, Laura (Zac) Richardson, Bryson (Lauren) Lambert, Tyler Koon, Cody Koon, Trey Koon, Annabelle Bullard, and Davis Koon; seven great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Sandra (Phil) Purvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Zana Holland Smith Koon in 1964; sisters, Virginia Koon Rowland and Lera Koon Rowland; and a son-in-law, Johnny Lambert.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2012, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm today and until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Gray, Zac Richardson, Bryson Lambert, Tyler Koon, Cody Koon, Trey Koon, and Davis Koon.

BOONEVILLE - Winnie Fay Tollison Koon, 83, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wade Koon; one daughter, Sue Harrison; one sister, Leola Mills; one brother, Ruey Tollison; and two grandsons, Perry and Jon Cristo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Cagle and Minister Jerry Childs officiating. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Bryant and her husband, Liddell, of DeRidder, La., and Martha Cristo and her husband, Ted, of Booneville; one sister, Jettie Mae Koon of Corinth; nine grandchildren, Charlotte Lott, Shelia Dougherty, Lyndon Smith, Gaylon Smith, Sidona Ryan, Nelson Smith, Mike Cristo, Louise Cristo and Jason Cristo; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

RED BAY, Ala. - Mary Georgiana Koontz, 40, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at the Care Center of Red Bay, Ala. She was a native of Alabama.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with the Rev. Victor Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.

BATESVILLE - Walter Lewis Koszyk, 60, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at the Corinth Rehab and Health Care Facility. He was born June 10, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He had been a resident of Batesville sin 1985. He was a retired truck driver and of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1960 until June 1966. A perfectness with all tasks, he especially enjoyed caring for the lawn and gardening.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Walter L. Koszyk Jr. of Batesville; two daughters, Rebecca M. Harold Kuykendall, 56, of Dry Creek, died suddenly Wednesday. Dec. 11, 2002, at his home.
Services were Friday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Walker officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Kuykendall was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a Tutorial Director for South Tippah Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Kuykendall of Dry Creek: his mother, Lola Wayne Kuykendall of Dry Creek; one son, Brian Kuykendall of Dry Creek: two step-daughters, Halley and Hope Jumper of Dry Creek: one step-son, Cassidy Juniper of Dry Creek: one brother, Kenneth Kuykendall of Shannon and two grandsons, David and John Kuykendall of Dry Creek. BALDWYN - Ira A. Kuykendall, 92, died Sunday, April 23, 1995, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-New Albany after a sudden illness. He was a teacher/coach for 34 years in the Union County Schools. He retired from teaching in 1966. He later served 24 years on the Union County School Board of Education, 22 years on the Union County Hospital Board of Trustees and 20 years on the Democratic Executive Committee. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Smith and William Speck officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

OKOLONA - Olevia Bailey Kyles, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Okolona. She was born Jan. 1, 1919, to the late Lonnie Bailey Sr. and Minerva King Bailey. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Nettleton and a homemaker. She was a former member of Zion Springs M. B. Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Springs M. B. Church with the Rev. Robert Fortson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Ella Mae Collins of Okolona; a godson, Lonnie E. Bailey of Egypt; a brother-in-law, Henry Fortson Sr. of Okolona; three grandchildren, Scott Collins Jr. of Okolona, Tyrone Collins and wife, Shelia, of Tupelo, and Renatta Collins of Okolona; two great-grandsons, Marcus and Jaqaveious Collins; two step grandchildren, Gale Swinney of Booneville and Leon Collins of Jackson.
