VIOLET IHRKE

Violet Mae Ihrke, 77, died Monday, May 12, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness.

Services were Thursday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Parman and Bro. Pete McCoy officiating. Burial was in Gaston Cemetery.

Mrs. Ihrke was born May 24, 1919, in Brainerd, Minn., to Sam and Rachel Newman Brockway. She was a homemaker. In recent years, she also sat with elderly people until her health failed. She attended Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Ihrke of Fairbanks, Alaska; a grandson, Fabian Lee Ihrke of Great Falls, Mont.; three brothers, Jay Brockway, Don Brockway and Bob Brockway, all of Grand Rapids, Minn.; two sisters, Norma Cook of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Ardith Brockway of Cathalmet, Wash.; her ex-daughter-in-law and caregiver, Sue Rian of Booneville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Ihrke; and by five sisters, two brothers and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were Randle Henry, Greg Henry, Ellis Key, Charles Key, Robert Key and Tony Dekleine.

 

GOLDEN IRONS

SHILOH, Tenn. - Golden Irons, 80, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at the Savannah Health Care Center. He joined St. Rest Baptist Church at an early age. He was a well-known farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from Sept. 31, 1943, until March 14, 1946.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at St. Rest Baptist Church with Bro. Will Luster Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Irons; four sons, Robert Irons Sr., Larry Irons, Clarence Irons and Charles Irons; four daughters, Mae Gillard, Geneva Scurry, Carolyn Wilson and Sarah Irons; two brothers, Belvin Irons and S.T. Irons; three sisters, Gladys Brown, Rosette Troope and Mable Dean; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Zelphia Irons; two brothers, James and Augustine Irons; and two sisters, Cornelius Tate and Mattie Taylor.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 

KIMBERLY IVEY

CORINTH - Kimberly D. Renfro Ivey, 42, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born Aug. 11, 1961, in Huntsville, Ala., to Kenny and Charlotte Coker Renfro. She was a homemaker and a member of Farmington Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and being on the computer. She was a loving wife and mother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Farmington Baptist Church and at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Laughin Funeral Home in Huntsville. The Rev. Tim Nall will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. Corinthian Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Ivey of Corinth; her mother, Charlotte Walters of Madison, Ala.; a son, Benjamin Ivey of Corinth; a brother, Chris Renfro and wife, Beth, of Hazel Green, Ala.; a sister, Jeanne Miller and husband, Wade, of Athens, Ala.; her mother-in-law, Wanda Walter of Harvest, Ala.; a brother-in-law, Mike Ivey of Harvest, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenny Renfro.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Corinthian Funeral Home; from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church; and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Laughin Funeral Home.
