This log cabin with native rock chimney was built by Capt. Charles Murrah Thomas in the Macedonia Community.

Capt. Thomas was born 1828 in Richmond Co., NC and served in the 19th Miss. Infantry during the War Between the States. In 1863, he married Rachel La Dosca Chambers in Noxubee Co. with whom he had 10 children. Capt. Thomas was also a sheriff of Noxubee Co.

Capt. Thomas and Rachel are buried in the Macedonia Cemetery.
