1st Generation

George Mason was born 1808 in England. He died before 1870. He married Camilla Jent Dent (daughter of Richard Dent and Ann Thomas). Camilla was born 1818 in Georgia. Camilla is living in Jasper County, Mississippi in the 1870 Census.

Known children are:

  1. Virginia A. Mason born August 9, 1837 in Alabama. Married Robert Kennon Dent.

  2. Edward Mason born 1847/1849 in Alabama. For more information see below.

  3. Fannie Mason born January 3, 1850 in Mobile County, Alabama. Died December 17, 1943 in Forrest County, Mississippi. Fannie married William Anderson Logan. Had children Elizabeth "Lizzie" Logan, George Mason Logan, Ruby Logan, Neva Logan, William Logan, Jeff B. Logan, Oscar Lee Logan, Arch M. Logan, and Alma Logan.

  4. G. Blucher Mason born October 15, 1855 in Alabama. Died October 15, 1896. Buried at Garlandville Cemetery, Jasper County, MS (According to the Jasper County Cemetery book by H. H. Daniels). Buried at Bethel Baptist Church, Newton County, MS (according to the website Find-A-Grave). Married 1st to Alice B., born September 28, 1860. Died August 1, 1881. Buried at Garlandville Cemetery, Jasper County, MS. Married 2nd to Mary Chapman, born July 26, 1862. Died August 10, 1941.

2nd Generation

Edward Mason (son of George & Camilla Mason) was born October 1847 in Alabama. Married 1st to Sarah R."Betty" (last name unknown). Sarah "Betty" was born September 1859 in Mississippi. She died between 1910 and 1920. Edward married 2nd to Elizabeth (last name unknown). Edward is listed in the 1880 Jasper County MS Census and the 1900, 1910, 1920 Smith County Census.

Known children are:

  1. James Edward "Eddie" Mason born January 4, 1884 in Mississippi. In 1918 he is living in Barlett, Newton County, Mississippi.

  2. Fannie Mason born August 1889 in Mississippi. Might also be called Ellie.

  3. Sallie J. Mason born November 1893 in Mississippi.

  4. William "Willie" Mason born November 1896 in Smith County, Mississippi. For more information see below.

  5. Mattie Mason born February 1896/1897 in Smith County, Mississippi. Died before 1910.

  6. Georgia Mason born January 1898 in Smith County, Mississippi.

  7. Leona/Leonia Mason born 1905 in Smith County, Mississippi.

3rd Generation

William "Willie" Owen Mason (son of Edward Mason & Sarah Betty) was born November 24, 1896 in Pineville, Smith County, Mississippi. Died March 1973 in Lawrence, Newton Co., MS. William married 1st to Laverne Stubbs (probably the daughter of Peter B. & Lucy A. Stubbs). She died after 1930. William married 2nd to Wardene (last name unknown).

Children are:

  1. William Owen Mason Jr. born X in Jasper County, Mississippi. Died X

  2. Margaret G. Mason born X in Jasper County, Mississippi. Died X.

  3. Thomas G. Mason born X in Jasper County, Mississippi. Died X.
