John Heath to T.W. Stewart: 1890

Dear Tom

I made arrangements yesterday with Tom Wilson to get him to leave the Bayou next year. I also made arrangements with John Tillottson to ___ board you until the 1st February 1890. Tillottson lives in the Frank Barrett or John Carlisle house on my side of the bayou. Come up at once. I want you to stay out there until the crop is gathered then take charge of both sides. I will give you one hundred dollars and board until January then $50.00 - Fifty Dollars a month for next year and allow you to use any of the provisions I put on the place. After next year if all turns out well I may be able to pay you better wages. I will get in about 450 acres next year and is the finest land in the county. The house has 4 rooms below and two above. 2 below are sealed and 2 above sealed with large fire place to four _____ is a much better house than my own. Tom Wilson ___ in a grove of _____. Tyson my day labor man is on the Petit Jury for next week. Try to get here by Saturday if possible would like to have you stay here next week. Telephone me what you will do and when you can come.
