The President pro tempore laid before the Senate the memorial of A. J. Donelson and Minor Meriwether, in behalf of the board of the levee commissioners of the counties of Bolivar, Washington, and Issaquena, Mississippi, praying the aid of Congress in rebuilding the levee of the Yazoo basin of the Mississippi valley; which was referred to the Committee on Commerce. Mr. Alcorn presented a memorial of the board of levee commissioners
of Bolivar, Washington, and Issaquena Counties, Mississippi, and a memorial
of the board of engineers of Louisiana, asking aid in the reconstruction
of the levees of the Mississippi River; which were referred to the Select
Committee on the Levees of the Mississippi River.
