What's new for George County
George County is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The centennial celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010, in Lucedale, MS, the county seat. Events begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Fun Run and end at 4 p.m. with a parade. There will be exhibits, demonstrations, music, family and church history tables, centennial souvenirs, and tours of the historic courthouse and downtown Lucedale from 9 a.m. until noon. A cake cutting event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with Senator Thad Cochran as guest speaker. For more information contact Juanita Webster at 601 947-2650.
I was looking at the Rocky Creek Cemetery records on your archives and noticed an error on a family member and would like it corrected if possible.
My brother, Vaughn Eubanks, born 08-14-1936 and died 12-26-1978. He's listed in Section D-7 death 12-26-1938. He lived to age 42.
Would like corrected for future generations looking for records. If someone else inputs data from this site, please pass the corrected information to the proper person.
