Attala County was formed in Dec 1833 from the Choctaw Cessation of 1830, Attala and 15 other counties were formed. Attala County is surrounded by Holmes County, Carroll County, Montgomery County, Choctaw County, Winston County, Leake County and Madison County. The county seat is Kosciusko. The county is located near the middle of the state.
